Happy Valentine’s Day! Everyone please join us in celebrating Chantilly’s negative heartworm test! When she was adopted, she was heartworm positive and underwent treatment. For those who don’t know, heartworm treatment takes months and can be very painful and boring (from kennel reasting) for our patients. But, Chantilly is a trooper and she is now heartworm free! YAY ❤️

PS: make sure to stay up to date on your pets’ heartworm prevention!!

Everyone welcome this adorable bundle of fluff to Hickory Knoll! Demi is a 10 week old Australian Shepherd puppy. Her new parents brought her in to meet Dr. Matt and get established as a patient, and she was the bestest girl! We get to see this cutie again soon for her booster shots 🥰

We have a new ‘Dog’tor on staff. Dr. Odin specializes in kisses, cuddles, and treats. He is now accepting new patients, but he is already booked up pretty far in advance because he is so knowledgeable and handsome…. We will be closed tomorrow, Thursday 1/23. One of our technicians who lives in the area braved a walk in the snow to go check on our clinic cats, and Hickory Knoll still has a thick blanket of snow! Over 30 years in business and this is the most snow our little building has had to endure… but at least she has a roof, right?! 😂

We hope everyone has been making some wonderful memories in the snow, and we plan to re-open with normal hours on Friday, 1/24. In the mean time, we would love to see some pictures of how you and your pets have been making the most of this “historical snow event!” Share your pics in the comments below

We will be closed tomorrow (1/21), and probably Wednesday (1/22), due to the anticipated snowfall. If you think your pet is having an emergency please call MedVet at 504-835-8508. Please call first to be triaged over the phone before you risk the icy roads! Everyone stay safe and warm!
