We founded our group in honor of a dear little dachshund named Sophia Grace. Sophia was a sweet little 12-year old dachshund who was rescued from a situation where she spent all her life without receiving any medical care. When she came into rescue she was severely malnourished, sickly and had to have nearly all her teeth pulled. Through the "Grace" of so many selfless contributors we were able to

get her the medical care that she so badly needed, and had been denied all her 12 years on earth. Sophia Grace lived out her final years in her forever home in Michigan where she thrived and grew stronger each day. It is in her honor that we founded our organization, and we will honor her with every dachshund we are able to help now and for many years to come!

These bonded, mellow souls do everything together. They love naps, sunbeams, and gentle pets. Recent dental surgery has them feeling great!

They need a soft landing: a forever home or a temporary foster.

Leo's Living His Best Life! 🌟

One month ago, our wonderful boy Leo headed home with his new family. We just had to share this pawsitive update! 💕

Leo has settled in like a dream. He fits right into the family routine, bringing laughter, cuddles, and so much love. His family says he's seriously the best dog and has filled their home with joy.

Seeing a rescue pup like Leo blossom in a loving forever home is why we do what we do. A huge thank you to Leo's amazing family for giving him the life he deserves! ❤️🐾

🐾 Happy Adoption Updates! 🐾

Seeing our pups thriving in their forever homes is the greatest gift of all. This holiday season, our hearts are so full reading these stories. ❤️

➡️ OTTO: Adopted in May, he wasn't sure what toys were for. Now? He's a fetch champion with his favorite bunny and is completely devoted to his person, Madi. He's been the best addition to his family!

➡️ KONA (Koko) & OREO: Merry Christmas! Kona celebrated his first Christmas meeting his extended family, mastering the art of lap surfing, and being loved by everyone. They feel so blessed to have him.

➡️ BIXBY: 5 months with this big personality! A squirrel-chasing, toy-shredding, ball-obsessed, vocal little handful who has finally discovered cuddles and adores his little human, Bennett. Life is definitely better with him in it.

➡️ LINCOLN: Showing off his stylish auction wins! Merry, Merry from this handsome SGF alum.

Panini’s journey hasn’t been easy. She came to us after struggling in a home with a young child — but that chapter is behind her, and she’s now ready for a calm, quiet, loving fresh start.

This sweet girl is gentle, affectionate, and eager to please. Yes, she can be anxious in new situations, but once she feels safe, her true personality shines: kisses, cozy snuggles, happy walks, and polite manners in the home. She’s not destructive, rarely barks, and sleeps peacefully in her crate or on the bed. She’s even good with mild-mannered dogs and confident cats!

A calm, adults-only home with patient people who enjoy gentle training and can give her the consistency she needs to thrive. She’ll blossom with love, structure, and secure routines.

A Christmas Miracle Named Bailey 🎄🐾

This holiday season, our foster family grew by one special set of paws! Please give a warm, merry welcome to Bailey.

Her Christmas story is a bit of a mystery. One of our incredible volunteers performed a festive miracle and was able to safely trap her. While her past is unknown, it's clear she was once someone's beloved pet—she's housebroken and knows her commands.

Now, for the Christmas wishlist part... Bailey isn't a gift for the faint of heart. She carries the scars of her time alone (nearly two months on the streets!) in the form of separation anxiety. 😥 We're only a few days in, so we're still figuring out if the anxiety is from her ordeal or the reason for it. But we promise to unwrap this challenge with patience, love, and training.

The good news? Her anxiety expresses itself through barking, not destruction—we're counting our blessings! She absolutely adores every human she meets and has a heart that just wants to love and please. ❤️

A few frank notes for her future forever family:

· She is not a candidate for apartment/condo living right now due to the vocal anxiety.
· She will need a patient, single-family home setting.
· She crates but will tell you all about her displeasure for hours.
· She's currently indifferent to our resident dogs through a gate.

We'll have her vetting completed over the coming weeks. For now, she's safe, warm, and surrounded by love—the greatest Christmas gift of all.

Good morning! ☀️ Here’s a PUPdate on Pixie and her babies.

As you may recall, Pixie brought five new little lives into the world last week. She had six puppies total—one precious little girl, who we named Paige, was stillborn. She was the tiny, perfect runt of the litter, and though we tried to revive her, she didn’t make it. Pixie seemed to understand as we said our goodbyes. 💔

The five surviving puppies—3 girls and 2 boys—are thriving, nursing well, and already so stinking cute! They’re growing fast and we can’t wait to see if they inherit Pixie’s beautiful curls. (For those curious, we learned Pixie is a Cavapoo and the dad is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.)

Pixie is a super mama—incredibly attentive, protective, and patient. She even allows our other dog to peek into the whelping box, but gently lets her know when it’s time to step back. 😊

Between caring for her newborns, Pixie has also become her foster mom’s shadow—very attached and always underfoot. She’s ready for her life back and is going to make the most devoted companion when she’s ready for her forever home. ❤️

⭐️ A gentle reminder: We are not accepting applications or inquiries for Pixie or her puppies at this time. They’ll be in loving foster care for many weeks as they grow, nurse, and begin their socialization journey.
