Happy Monday! We will continue meeting a different staff member every Monday.

Today we kick it back off with Dr. Krissy Palo.
Dr. Palo has been a practicing veterinarian for just over 20 years; she has been with us since November of 2016. The reason she became a veterinarian was because she could not imagine doing anything else. Growing up her time was spent mostly outdoors, this is what led to her great love of wildlife and animals!

SAVE THIS LIFE MICROCHIPS
RE-REGISTRATION

Save This Life Microchips has unexpectedly shut down and unlinked its database from national registries. Here’s what you need to know and what to do:

If your pet’s microchip number starts with either 991 or 900164, then you have one of the Save This Life microchips.

The microchips themselves remain safe and functional.

However, due to the database shutdown, pet owners must take immediate action to ensure their pet's microchip information is accessible.

To prevent any issues if your pet ever goes missing, please re-register your pet’s microchip number as soon as possible at one of the following sites:

Free Registry Service at www.freepetchipregistry.com.
This FREE registry is connected to the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool, ensuring your contact information is available when scanned.

PetLink at 1-877-PETLINK (738-5465) or
Petlink
Registration. Register Save This Life microchipped pets with petlink.net for only $9.99 using the discount code: VEDCO.

HomeAgain at 1-888-466-3242 or homeagain.com.
Register Save This Life microchipped pets with HomeAgain for no charge when using code EnrollSTL.

Unsure of your pet’s chip number or the company they are registered with? Call, email or text our hospital to have your pet's information retrieved or to schedule an appointment for a quick scan with a Universal Reader.

Every year, approximately 6.3 million pets enter U.S. shelters, and many are the result of unplanned litters.

Spaying and neutering can help lower the number of unwanted pets that lead to overcrowded shelters, hurting the chances of available pets finding a loving home.

If you need to schedule your pets spay or neuter procedure, please call us today.

🐾 Help us spread awareness on the benefits of spaying/neutering and share this post!

Happy Monday! For those who didnt get to last week’s post, for next few months, every Monday we will introduce a different staff member that is involved in your pets care here at Bay Pines.

Today we meet Dr. Erxleben Aka Dr. Kurt.
Dr. Kurt has been with the Bay Pines family since 1991, and is another one of our three owners. He is with us most Fridays, the other days in the week you’ll see him at our Lake Street clinic in Boyne City. Dr. Kurt says that what he loves most, is the relationships that he has developed with both the pets and their owners during his 30 plus years at Bay Pines.
