Cash is a first-timer for boarding this weekend.
Here's what your dog will experience during a first time stay:
-Nervousness at drop-off. This is completely normal. They don't know what is going on or why they are being left here.
-After parents leave - curiosity. New sights and smells along with a lot of new faces to meet.
-Uncertainty during turnouts. We introduce them to new dogs one at a time. We start with very mellow dogs then try to match energy levels. Playful dogs go with other playful dogs. Mature dogs go with other mature dogs. We also consider size and personality.
- After we get our turn-out groups, new dogs learn the rules. We have the 3 Hs - No Hu***ng, No Hackles, No Hyper-Fixation.
-Relief when owners show up. It's been fun, but they were worried they would have to stay here.
Here's what we expect with 2nd timers:
-A little nervousness at drop off.
-Excitement as soon as the owners leave. It's time to play.
-They know me and they know the rules. It's time for fun 😀
For every stay thereafter.
- some nervous-type dogs still show nervousness at drop off. But by this time they know their owners are coming back. They will eat much better and settle in quicker. Some of these dogs don't really like playing, and they hang with me during turnouts, get their scratches, and wait out their time here.
-95% of dogs - excitement upon arrival. It's time to party from the time they come in until the time their folks show up.
We love each and every dog that comes to stay with us and we feel privileged to be part of their life ❤️
Oh, and Cash is a super cool dude and we are happy we get to care for him this weekend ❤️
