Sweet Grady had a blast in followed by a to clean-up for the Holidays 🐾🥰 Double-coated like this handsome boy benefit from a de-shed! As they shed their undercoat gets caught up in their guard coat, causing knots and matting. After a good de-shed, the fur sits flatter, their undercoat works properly to regulate temperature, and your floors stay cleaner 😜

Happy 🐾 Featuring at today🐩🐕 Every benefits from professional dog grooming! Read below for more info on coat types and how your coat will be in for a treat!!

Double-coated breeds should not be shaved down. Oftentimes, we'll hear, "I'd like my shaved down because he is hot." This is not the case! These dogs have a natural way of regulating body temperature with that undercoat. Depending on the time of year, it traps either cool or warmer air to provide your dog with the needed insulation. Your dog probably has a fair amount of undercoat that inhibits this process. So, a haircut is not needed, but a de-shed is. We'll tell you, though, the amount of undercoat that comes out through a specific process makes it appear your dog has had a trim :) Examples of double-coated breeds also include and

Wire-haired breeds should not be trimmed with clippers! They have a specific hair type that protects their skin. In the wild, they would strip their own fur by rubbing on rocks and objects in the environment. We primarily use pumice stones to pull the coat to keep this process natural. If the coat is clipped vs stripped, it doesn't allow for proper re-growth since the hair grows when pulled from the follicle. Examples include

🐾 A dog's ear position can indicate their mood! These playful are feeling playful and excited in these pics! Baby has ears that are perky and upright conveying her curiosity and has ears flopping in the wind! Drop a cute Ear Pose of your in the comments! We love to see your fur babies!! 🐾

Other signs of a playful dog include:
🐕 Relaxed body language, with a loose & relaxed stance.
🐩 Soft face and happy eyes.
🐕 Tail may be down & relaxed, or happily wagging.
🐩 A wide mouth smile (that isn't showing/snarling teeth).

Stressed or anxious body language includes:
Stressed, whale eyes.
Ears are laid back flat and tight against the head, or positioned sideward.
Tail will be tight, possibly wagging slowly.
Hackles raised and a tense appearance.

What to do:
Stop play and separate from other dogs, children, and unfamiliar people.
Provide the dog with a safe space.
Avoid approaching the dog.
