This sweet puppy was abandoned. I have contacted every rescue I can think of and they’re all full. We had 3 other puppies dumped on Friday and they left for rescue yesterday. A few hours later, this guy was left at the same area. 😩
Male shepherd mix. Maybe Anatolian? Approximately 5-6 MONTHS old - he’s just a baby! Very sweet disposition. Good with kids and both large and small breed dogs. Does well in a kennel and has not had any potty accidents in the house so far. I went to hand him a treat and expected to get a finger nibbled bc he was hungry - but nope! He was very gentle and sweet. Somebody needs this baby and he NEEDS a loving home 🫶🏻 We have our own dogs plus a foster dog already so unfortunately I cannot keep him. Please share and if you or anyone you know would like to give this puppy a family - let me know! 💕

Calling all hound lovers 🗣️🗣️These babies are only 6 months old and while they’re with an amazing rescue - they deserve to have families! Please consider a meet and greet so you can go fall in love. The rescue estimates they’ll be about 40 lbs at adulthood so an easy size to ride around in cars, lounge on couches, chase a ball across the yard, etc. ❤️❤️

We have only managed to squeeze by this week. We are literally bursting at the seams.

We desperately need our community's help TOMORROW to maintain our shared no-kill mission. Our shelter CANNOT do that without YOU showing up TOMORROW and adopting or fostering one of our wonderful dogs.

Our goal tomorrow is to open AT LEAST 30 kennels.

Earlier this week, a man followed me from one appointment to the next. I was aware that he was following me and I had attempted to let him pass me. He wouldn’t. So I assumed that he wanted a quote or business card. We both parked at my next client’s house and I hopped out of the grooming van and walked right over to his car. No bad vibes, no gut instinct going off. Immediately the man accused me of stealing his dog and I - being in customer service mode - politely told him I didn’t have any dogs in my van. He then told me oh well no you didn’t take the dog but I need you to come help me find her. Again, no red flags going off. I simply said oh I can’t go look for her bc I’m working, sorry! He started yelling at me to get in his f***ing van and coming at me. I managed to get away and he tried to get into my locked grooming van.

Long story short - police came out. My brother in law came and sat with me until they got there. I have pictures of the man and his van.

But - I’m obviously rethinking how I approach people now. And how I have opened my door hundreds of times to speak to strangers or hand out business cards.

I’m going to be attaching a plastic card holder to the outside of the van door and an awesome client of mine is making me a do not disturb sign for the window.

That being said - if you are a current client and I’m grooming your pets - please disregard the sign. I am always happy to speak to any of you or let you come out for any reason. I will not be opening my door to strangers or approaching cars that honk for my attention, etc. It simply isn’t safe and this was such a close call.

Yep... you're reading that right. 33 dogs were intaken today.

We are back into a Code Red situation as we now have 192 dogs onsite.

We will need help DESPERATELY to get this under control, so please swing on by to help us empty some kennels and save some lives.

It may sound like a broken record, but this is the reality we are living in. High intakes and no more space. We need help, once again. Our community consistently steps up and helps us when we are in need which is how we ended up with a 98% save rate for dogs in the month of August. Let's keep our save right HIGH and help us move dogs into great homes.

Thank you to everyone who came out today to adopt or foster. We appreciate you SO MUCH!

Tiny Hooves is in DESPERATE need of donations after rescuing these dumped puppies. They care for over 200 animals on their farm & deserve all the help we can possibly give. This can be a monetary donation, dog food or animal feed/hay, blankets, puppy toys, etc. Nothing is too small!

They’re also looking for the person who dumped 20+ toy breed pups in a cotton field during the hottest month of the year. If you have any info regarding that matter please reach out. It’s important not only for these pups to have justice but to make sure that person doesn’t have other animals in their “care” that are at risk.

Twiggy is super excited to announce Dollar Dog adoption days are here!! From the 27th OCT until the 1st NOV all available dogs will be dollar adoptions! (contract with adoption still required)
