During this Thanksgiving week, many of us will spend time with family and friends and reflect on what we are grateful for. This year, we are also taking the opportunity to welcome several new members to our agency family. Over the past year, a number of our K9 partners have retired due to age, medical needs, or other factors. As a result, we are proud to introduce the next generation of K9s joining the NCSO team.
Over the next several days, we have introduced one new K9 partner each day as we celebrated their arrival and the important work they will be doing for our community.

Today we introduce you to our last newest member, K9 Eliot. K9 Eliot is a German Shepherd imported from Poland. K9 Eliot and his handler, Deputy B. Johnson are assigned to the Highway interdiction team.
K9 Eliot is a dual-purpose K9 trained and certified in narcotic detection, article searches, tracking and trailing and criminal apprehension. His specialized training allows him to locate illegal narcotics, evidence, and suspects in a variety of environments, including vehicles, open areas, and buildings. K9 Eliot will play a vital role in enhancing officer safety, improving response capabilities, and supporting the Sheriff’s Office mission to reduce crime and remove illegal substances from the community.

Today we introduce you to K9 Jezzy. K9 Jezzy is a 1 year old Labrador Retriever that will be assigned to the narcotics division of the Nash County Sheriff’s Office. K9 Jezzy is certified to detect several illicit narcotics and will be utilized to disrupt the flow of dangerous narcotics within our community.

K9 Jezzy is also trained to perform human tracking. This skillset will prove vaulble in the event a suspect flees law enforcement or a child/endangered person is lost and needs assistance. Detective D. Denton will be K9 Jezzy’s handler.

We are excited to welcome K9 Jezzy to the NCSO family and look forward to the valuable service he will provide to our community.
