To all of our valued clients we would like to make everyone aware of some upcoming changes here at the Harrah Veterinary Clinic.

We will unfortunately be saying Good Bye to Dr. Bardales. Her last day here will be August 4th, 2023.

Due to that change our schedule and hours of operation will be changing to the following beginning August 5th, 2023.

Sunday – Closed
Monday – Closed
Tuesday – 8am - 4pm (Medication and Record Pickup)
Wednesday – 8am - 4pm (Medication and Record Pickup)
Thursday – 1pm - 5pm (Surgery Drop Off Only)
Friday - 8am – 5pm (Surgeries by appointment only)
Saturday - 8am – 1pm (Vaccines by appointment only)

All surgeries that are currently scheduled are being contacted and we will be moving all Spays and Neuters to Fridays with a Thursday afternoon drop off and Friday afternoon pickup.

At this time, we are accepting new clients for vaccines only.

We will be offering medication refills through October 2023. We recommend starting the search now to establish your pets with another clinic in order to prevent any lapse in care or prescription medication.

All emergencies and large animal services will be discontinued as of August 4th, 2023.

Records can be sent to the clinic of your choice, picked up or emailed. Please contact us with any questions or concerns. We understand this will be a tough transition and will do our best to help make it as smooth as possible.

We would like to make a post regarding No Shows.

As many of you know we are booked solid daily and generally booked out a few days if not a week at a time. While that is not terrible for turn around we unfortunetly have to redirect a lot of calls to our local Emergency clinics on a daily basis. To date in June we have had 42 no shows. This does not include the last minute cancellations and reschedules.

We are asking that if you schedule an appointment with us PLEASE call us if you no longer need the appointment so that we can give that space to an animal waiting to be seen. A minimum of 24 hours notice for cancelations and rescheduling is ideal.

Thank you,

Harrah Veterinary Clinic Staff

Summer Thunderstorms and Fireworks can make for a very stressed out pet. If your animals need medication please call sooner rather than later. Pets do need to be current patients for us to send out meds without an exam.

DOG NEEDS A HOME

Dasha is a 6 year old female Rottweiler. She is up to date on all vaccines, dewormer, and flea/tick prevention. She is not spayed. She adores people, but would probably do best in a house where she is the only pet.
Some of her favorite things:
Being the center of attention, licking your hands, sleeping, getting belly rubs, going on long walks, eating canned dog food, and playing fetch with her squeaky football.
Some of her least favorite things:
Cats and being alone.

A love of animals and the ability to help livestock with their medical problems led Southern California native Jasmin Bardales to the Yakima Valley.

Wondering about getting your pet spayed or neutered? We get countless calls each day inquiring about having their pets fixed and unfortunately we are still fully booked. We are currently working through our waitlist from the last year.

We will update here on facebook when our books are open again to schedule.

We recommend contacting the Yakima Humane Society's Spay and Neuter clinic for those who do not wish to wait as we are booked out for most of this year.

Thank you!

Great information to keep in mind from our friends at Yakima Pet Emergency Service. Keep your animals safe this Valentine's Day!

With Valentine’s Day approaching, most pet parents know the danger chocolate poses to dogs, but this is a reminder that certain flowers can also be highly toxic to your pets. Some of the more popular holiday varieties include:

Lilies (all varieties): Kidney failure in cats 🐈

Chrysanthemums (Daisy/Mum): Vomiting, diarrhea, hypersalivation, incoordination, or dermatitis in cats and dogs 🐈🐕

Baby’s Breath: GI upset such as vomiting and diarrhea in both cats and dogs 🐈🐕

Daffodils: Small ingestions can cause GI upset. Large ingestions cause convulsions, low blood pressure, tremors and cardiac arrhythmias in both cats and dogs. Bulbs are the most poisonous part. 🐈🐕

Tulips: Vomiting, depression, diarrhea, hypersalivation in cats and dogs. Highest concentration of toxin in bulb. 🐈🐕

Roses: Although the petals are non-toxic, the thorns can be dangerous if your pet steps on or swallows the stem! 🐈🐕

Please remember to keep potentially harmful flowers and greenery (and chocolate) out of paws reach! Use this Poisonous Plant resources guide from the ASPCA to check any flowers or plants you are gifted this Valentine's Day: https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/toxic-and-non-toxic-plants

If you suspect your pet has consumed toxic flowers or plants call us immediately. You can also connect with the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435.
