Delmarva German Shepherd Dog Club We're a working dog club located in Harrington, Delaware. The DGSDC offers training to help the own. Our club training is scenario based. certification.

While we're listed as a German Shepherd club, we will work with other approved breeds and mixes if they come from working lines or working with some show. We offer: marker training, practical use obedience, K-9 personal protection training, the AKC-CGC and Trick Dog title/certificate training and testing, and the puppy S.T.A.R. When problems arise, we can help with many of those issues. Finding us

is easy...We're located about two miles northwest of Harrington, Delaware, behind Callaway Furniture on Hopkins Cemetery Road.

We had eleven club members and dogs at Lowe's this morning.
If you've never seen a LONG LINE of well mannered K-9s, you might be missing something. We went from the parking lot to the outside garden area to all points in the store.

Never a bark or issue with any of them.

Our club went to Lowe's of Seaford this morning for a PACK WALK.

From the garden center to the entire inside of the store, the inside A/C work was more enjoyable! All of the dogs and puppies looked great and not an issue one.

It's nice to have pet friendly stores like Lowe's to get different types of training and conditioning in with our pets. There's much more to this club other than bite work.

OK...it's not a Blackstone grill, but I am doing my part for the planet and those club brats and burgers should be flavo...

The hottest temperatures will occur from Friday into the weekend with highs in the low to mid 90s, and heat indexes in the 100 to 105 range this weekend. Slightly cooler at the coast. Check on elderly neighbors to make sure they have air conditioning. Also, stay hydrated with water and take frequent breaks if you're outside for a prolonged period of time. -Bob T.

SUNDAY PACK WALK....9:00 AM Lowe's in Seaford

OK with weather conditions looking rough for outside training, there could be some risk of the dogs being in crates or cars for very long periods of time...SAFETY. So, we are shifting to a PACK WALK at Lowe's of Seaford.

Meet at the top end of the store parking lot if you can make it.
Bring clean up materials if you think your pet will have an accident.
Give them a potty break BEFORE we enter the store!
Bring water and and reward foods for your pet.
Got a club shirt? Wear it please.

We plan on doing light parking lot obedience and then shift to a walk around the store. REMINDER, since this is a "pet friendly" business, be mindful of shoppers. Well trained dogs look good!

NO BITE WORK DONE TODAY.

Since it is your pet and we are in training, you don't have to let folks touch your pet. Don't want them to pet it, simply inform them we are training...

It should be a fun an positive experience most businesses people never seen this many working lines dogs or so many well trained.

We get calls from folks wanting to get rid of their pets because they are OUT OF CONTROL. The problem isn't the pet, it's the owner who purchased the pet, failed to train the pet, and now want to cast it away like trash! SHAMEFUL!!!!

��Extreme heat can be deadly. Don’t leave children or pets in the car unattended during this extreme heat! It only takes minutes for temperatures to soar to dangerous levels inside a vehicle. Let’s all stay vigilant and keep our loved ones safe during this scorching weather.

Our Story

The DGSDC is a working dog club located northwest of Harrington, Delaware. We're about two miles west of Callaway Furniture on Hopkins Cemetery Road.

While we're listed as a German Shepherd club, we will work with other approved breeds and mixes, if they come from working lines or working with some show and can do the training we offer.

We offer utility style obedience that uses on and off leash marker training, AKC titles/certificate training, tracking and area searching, and non-pattern training for protection scenarios. Our club has agility equipment to help develop your pet’s confidence and body.

Need something special for a community event? The DGSDC can offer 30 and 45 minute K-9 Demos for many community events and organizations in the area. We do require several weeks advanced notice so that a quality K-9 demo can be developed and for our members to plan their work schedules. We showcase club obedience, protection training scenarios with several dogs, and we let the kids try on the equipment after we’re done. Call us for more details and availability dates.
