Delta Airlines Flight 694 had taken off from Detroit, heading for Los Angeles just another routine trip. But high above the clouds, something unexpected happened: a small dog traveling with its owner suffered a serious medical emergency.

And then came a decision that was anything but routine: the captain chose to divert the flight and make an emergency landing in Minneapolis... to save the life of a dog. Over 180 passengers delayed. As fate would have it, a veterinarian was on board and stepped in immediately, stabilizing the little one as the plane descended. On the ground, a medical team was already waiting. The dog survived thanks to a courageous act of compassion at 30,000 feet.
