We had a surprise sitting in the coop for us after work! Welcome to the world little one! Our first hatchling that we allowed out of 6 eggs (so far- all of which are doing great!) Mommas kept stealing eggs from each other but I guess that means it's their time to go eat...it's like they took shifts....5 hens taking shifts and fighting over the eggs ☠️ and one mother clucker pecking the heck out of hands making welts when checking the eggs and collecting the nonmarked ones...

I have no idea yet what this beauty is and was produced from my flock! But 'she' is becoming one heck of a stunner with those colors coming in on her wings! The last 2 pics are from today 🥰🥰🥰 while they were grass grazing! This is the only one I chose to holdback! The rest of the same age range is searching for new coops to perch at!

Trying something different, doing 1 egg at a time to see if that isn't a possible cause of no development, this egg is fertile as there is a bullseye prior to me putting in the incubator, was rotating the egg around to see if it actually was since I'm not doing a full out shell less hatch this time, for padding below it's padding I use for lock down as well as a STERILE gauze pad that the egg is actually sitting on, there are holes poked in the top for gas exchange

This trio has finally come home to us here on the homestead! Took some precautions and now for the quarantine period while they finish drying from their bug bath!
