Cute candid from the other night

We did not get the scores I was hoping for and the classes had some really nice horses so we unfortunately did not place but im proud of my boy regardless.
Niko is headed home to beaverton to be a 16 year olds all around horse
I'll sure miss this boy but I believe he has a solid foundation and can do anything
He will fall for his girl the way he fell for me and they will grow together ❤️

Our trail go didn't go quite as planned and I got so focused on keeping niko calm I forgot to haunch turn before I walked up the bridge and just walked up the side but niko did everything I asked of him. He stayed with me the whole time but really was just scared.

Tomorrow we move in. Tomorrow, the beginning of the end of our journey together ends. Today was our last ride at home and niko did not make this upcoming weekend any easier by being absolutely perfect!
I forgot nikos tack at a friend's place from showing last weekend so I rode him in a loping hackamore (which by the way is definitely too big) but he was so good and acted as if I'd done it 100 times.
I worked on swinging and throwing a rope off of him again and he was super chill.
Niko is such a nice boy and I can't wait to meet his new family.
Niko is well loved around the barn and will be missed by many.
Beware, there will be tears this weekend as I prepare to say goodbye.
I will see all you fellow competitors tomorrow, and prospective bidders fri-sun

Today was cow day! For his first time working cows, I am very impressed! He went right into the herd and moved through the cows! He got excited a few times but came back to me easily

Niko had a long and fun weekend swimming and trail riding!
The trail was very advanced and niko handled it like a pro with dogs running back and forth, steep hills, big steps, bees, then going back down the same steep hills.
The ride was about 5 hours and just under 9 miles so by the end he was pretty done. He tried to take off loping twice but I picked up and said whoa and he immediately came back to a walk and maintained his composure all the way back to camp.
Niko is little so he was a little slower than the bigger horses but he never minded when they got a bit ahead of him and waited for me to tell him when it was safe to trot back up to the group
This guy barely sweat too!
He stood calmly and quietly while we stopped for lunch even though his rein dropped then went right back to it.
This guy will make someone a very nice horse!
Next adventure is the trail show at OHC next weekend!

Quick little update:
First of all I'm in AWWW of how amazing this guy is!
Next we have some fun trips planned in the coming weeks before competition!
8/13: Beach trip!
8/15: Cynthia Fishers place for trainers week
8/18-8/20: camping!
8/26-8/27: mountain trail/show trail show at OHC

This guy was made to work! He'd make an awesome ranch and/or cow horse!
Niko is athletic, has personality, and good looks!
Please get ahold of me if you are interested in him and/or would like to come meet him!
Niko is just under 14'1 at 4 years old!

Niko had a long and awesome day!
First time ba****ck and riding in a halter, did a light ride at Michelle Keeneys barn, and went on his first trail ride!
Niko was awesome and had a couple spooks but came right back to me! He lead and followed, saw bikes and dogs, crossed and played in water, did some trail obstacles and was just overall the best boy!
This guy will be an available at the final event!

Niko is doing awesome!
He took reserve champion Mustang gelding, I've ridden him 2x, and yesterday we did some obstacle work for the first time! Also niko laid down right next to me for first time!
If you want to meet this handsome guy, come over and say hi!
And don't forget, he will be available at the end of the challenge!
