Just a friendly reminder from your neighborhood veterinary office about the holiday weekend. Here are a couple safety tips to remember while enjoying any of the festivities this Labor Day weekend. Also if your pet gets a little nervous with potential fireworks, please call us sooner then later if you need medications for them.

Since yesterday was National Dog Day, we wanted to take a special moment to acknowledge a very special doggo to us (and we thought she deserved her own post)! If you come to our office you more then likely have seen her either zipping around, napping, begging for treats or maybe you thought she was a statue sitting perfectly still... our beloved Sandwich! Let's all be honest she does kind of run the place and definitely fills a supervisor type role here 😅. She has also built up her little fan club too which is why we wanted to give her the spotlight she deserves!

Today is a day for the dogs! Today is National Dog Day! We of course love all our canine companions and love to see our patients here especially when they are happy and silly. Join us in celebrating our doggos on their special day.

For "Meet Me Monday" this week we have Baloo! He is a 2 year old Newfoundland and almost 2 years ago exactly we shared his picture as a baby. Now he is much bigger but just as silly and happy as ever (only about 100lbs bigger then his last photo). Its such a privilege to see our patients grow up happy and healthy.

With the holiday this week, here are some helpful tips if your pets get a little stressed during the festivities. If they do we highly encourage you to plan ahead of time by making sure their collar/microchip ID's are accurate/current, get meds refilled or prescribed if needed and have a space ready for your furry friends. Also remember some festivities do continue through the weekend so it may be worth keeping that in mind when planning activities as well. Be sure to give us a call ahead of time if you need meds or anything. We wish you all a safe and happy holiday!

Bruce was in for an appointment recently and was apparently enamored by the art we have hanging on the wall. We didn't realize that he was such an art connoisseur 😂 either that or he just thinking about how a cat got on the wall.

This week's "Meet Me Monday" we have Nim! This good sir is a 10 year old shorthair who was found as tiny little kitten overseas and has lived in a couple different countries since. His owner says his "lordship" is a neighborhood celebrity on Green Street in Harrisburg. While he was here he was donning a seasonal bowtie collar (which his owner says does change depending on the time of year lol).

Good Morning! We just wanted to share a photo that one of our clients shared with us. This is Tac (5 month old Belgian Malinois) who recently graduated from his training and we are proud of him. When they showed us his graduation photo, it was too cute not to share.

Ticks are definitely out in full force now and you do not need to live near the woods to be subject to their presence. We highly encourage all our patients to keep up with preventatives to help keep their pet safe and definitely learn to do thorough tick checks on your pets. Some can be very very small and can be tricky to find and like to hide.

Say hey to "Amari", this week's Meet Me Monday! She is a 17 week old German Shepherd puppy. She has to grow quite a bit to grow into her ears and tail as they are so big and long. She is a sweetie just like her bigger sister too.
