There has been some recent news about a microchip company ceasing operations and this may have some of our clients worried about their pet's microchip information. If we microchipped your pet at our office we use the company HomeAgain microchips which is still active and in operation. If you are unsure which company your pet's microchip may belong to but have the number we recommend checking on the AAHA Microchip Registry Lookup (https://www.aaha.org/for-veterinary-professionals/microchip-search/). This database will let you know which company your pet's chip is registered to, if it belongs to SaveThisLife you may want to reach out to another microchip company like HomeAgain to register your pet's information with them. This is also a good reminder that if you ever move or if your phone number changes, you always want to update the microchip company with these changes so that should you pet ever get lost you have the best chances of them being reunited with you. Should you have more questions, please feel free to give our office a call.
The Texas-based company, Save This Life, has ceased operations and that could become an issue for pet owners.
