OHS Policies
Adoption Policy: The adopted pet must be unconditionally loved and given a good home. Arkansas State law requires that all adopted pets must be neutered before being placed in the new home. The adoption fee will include the veterinary charges for this surgery. Adoption Fees: A

Persons adopting animals from the Shelter must agree to the following:

I (we) acknowledge adoption of the above described animal and agree to the following conditions:

1. To care humanely, feed properly, provide clean, fresh water daily, and provide comfortable sleeping quarters.
2. To not keep the dog tied or chained up outside after the first 2 weeks, unless the restraint system is designed so that the dog has adequate exercise room, free access to water and shelter at all times, and cannot become entangled in the equipment.
3. That the animal will receive regular veterinary care, including annual rabies and distemper combination vaccines.
4. That the Ozark Humane Society may examine or inquire about this animal at any time, and if not satisfied with the conditions under which it is kept, or the animal has not been spayed or neutered according to this contract, may enter upon my premise and take the animal and such entry shall not constitute trespass.
5. The Ozark Humane Society tries to place animals of good health and disposition as will make a satisfactory pet, but cannot guarantee the health or disposition of any adopted animal or be responsible for any subsequent medical expenses or personal / property damage inflicted by this animal.
6. I (we) do not own any interest in this animal until (s)he is spayed or neutered and released by OHS. Spay/Neuter Policy: If your pet is not already spayed/neutered, the surgery will be scheduled as soon as possible. Spay/Neuter surgery must be done before you take your pet home. You may pick up your pet following surgery. If the pet you select is too young to spay or neuter, it must remain at the shelter until spayed or neutered. Contact:

Please say "Hello" to our two newest adoptable dogs, Jane and Bernie.
Jane is a beautiful terrier mix that loves to go for walks and be petted. She is great with other dogs and is out of her puppy stage at about 4 years old. Jane weighs about 50 pounds and is gentle and sweet with mesmerizing eyes that immediately get your attention.
Bernie, the little hound mix puppy is still growing at about 25 pounds and is a shy sweet little dog finding her way in this world. Bernie has been living with two of her siblings in a wonderful foster home and has been sodialized and is ready to play and learn to be part of a family. Please come meet these two very aoptable dogs at our shelter soon!

Bobo

#WooferWednesday Bobo is a 4 year old female red heeler mix. She is house trained and loves to play fetch. She is a little shy at first but very sweet once you get to know her. Please come meet Bobo, or share if you can.

Last Friday, Tracy our friend from the Turquoise Pooch Paw Spa, stopped by the shelter to meet our oldest, long term dog, Miney. Miney had a rough life prior to coming to our shelter with her brother, Meeny. Both were abused severely and were frightened and aggressive. Our shelter gave them a home, and our staff and volunteers have given them love and walks. Over the years both dogs mellowed, especially Miney. We lost Meeny recently and Tracy heard Miney's story when her team of groomers gave Miney her first ever Spa Day. Miney LOVED it! Tracy has since taken the big step of giving Miney her long sought Forever Home. Miney will now be the Turquoise Pooch Paw Spa mascot dog.! Word has it she is loving her new job! Thank you Tracey and Turquoise Pooch team for giving out Miney a chance!

#WooferWednesday Rusty (male) and Pebbles (female) are 3 month old chihuahua mix puppies, current weight about 6 pounds each. These babies have their spay / neuter appointments soon and then can go to their new homes. #WooferWednesday Hello Handsome! This big red dog may be no Clifford, but Handsome has plenty to offer to someone that is looking for an older dog. He is about nine years old, and is a red-bone hound mix. Handsome has been with us since just after Christmas and is ready to go home.

#WooferWednesday May I introduce Dwayne? Dwayne is our longest dog resident having been with us at the Ozark Humane Society since April 2014. He is a 15 year old mixed breed hound dog that has spent many years waiting to be adopted. We have never given up hope. Why has Dwayne been with us so long? Dwayne needs time to get to know new people, and his adoptive family will need to visit him more than once. But once one of ‘his people’ out at the shelter introduces you he will accept you. He is fearful , but not aggressive, barking from his kennel and cowering when new people come near. As you can see once he gets to know you, Dwayne has a lot of love to give. Please consider giving Dwayne a home, or sharing to help him find one.
