❤It's National Volunteer Appreciation Week and we have a lot to be grateful for!

🙌Each year, more than 300 incredible volunteers dedicate over 11,000 hours to the RHSPCA and we couldn’t be more thankful. Whether they’re cleaning kennels, assisting at events, or snuggling kittens, every single volunteer plays a vital role in our mission. We simply couldn’t do it without them!

🐶Sadie is a sweet girl who’s been waiting patiently for her forever family. This beautiful long-term shelter resident is housebroken, crate-trained, and full of love to give. At her core, Sadie is a loyal companion who just wants to be someone's shadow and snuggle buddy.

She’d thrive in a home with older kids (13+), and while she gets along with some dogs, she’d do best with slow introductions and might prefer being the only pet. Sadie’s not a fan of cats, so a feline-free home is a must!

💛Whether you're looking to foster or adopt, Sadie is ready to fill your life with joy, tail wags, and a whole lot of heart. After all she’s been through, she truly deserves a soft place to land and a family to call her own. Let’s give Sadie the happy ending she’s been dreaming of!

❣️We are so grateful for our amazing Harrisonburg Animal Care & Control! Not pictured are the county animal control officers, A. Reed & A. Simmers, who we appreciate just as much!

The Harrisonburg Police Department would like to take a moment to recognize and thank two of our own—Animal Control Officers Geoff Bechtel and Joey Lezotte.

Officer Bechtel and Officer Lezotte work tirelessly to protect the welfare of animals in our community while also ensuring public safety. Their roles require compassion, dedication, and a strong commitment to service, and we are proud to have them as part of our team.
