🌈 Rest Easy, Shorty.
Today, we had to say goodbye to one of the most special souls in our barn. At 21 years old, Shorty passed away peacefully, surround by the herd he led so well for many years.
Shorty had a way of making everyone feel safe- horses and humans alike. He was endlessly kind and patient. Whether you were taking your very first lesson or building your confidence back up after a fall, Shorty was always there as the calm and forgiving teacher.
Every morning, Shorty greeted whoever was bringing his breakfast with his signature nicker - a happy little motor that said thank you (and reminded us that he would never turn down extra cookies.) His kind eye, quiet leadership, and gentle spirit will be missed for years to come.
Shorty left this world the same way he lived in it - loved, calm, and surrounded by his herd. Gallop free, Shorty. You have more than earned your rest. Thank you for everything.
We will forever listen for your breakfast nicker in the quiet mornings at the barn.
