First intro to puppy mush tonight! They went nuts over it ❤️
First indication they are ready for it comes with teeth coming in, interest in what their mom is eating, and Susie’s beginning reluctance to nurse.
As we still haven’t received some deposits, there are two females and one male still available.

Anytime mama Susie gets in the box to feed her puppies we now have a whole chorus of happy and insistent yips and barks. The whole pack turned three weeks old yesterday. ❤️

There is still a male and a female available with deposits down for interested hunting homes! 😊🐾

Our ‘C’ litter is now two and a half weeks old. ❤️
We still have one male and one female available to loving hunting homes with a deposit down. Puppies are determined with owner input into which permanent homes they enter into between age five to six and a half weeks. This is when true personalities and abilities appear, which is so much more important than markings!

We are excited to see how this bunch does for the families whom have already invested in their future hunting companions given the excellent temperaments and abilities of their parents.

There is still one male and one female available with deposit down to a qualified hunting home! They will be ready to go the week of September 8. All of our puppies are carefully introduced to gunfire and water before leaving our kennels.

Eyes have started to crack open on the light blue and dark blue collar females today. Our 3yr-old son begs to love up (with assistance) on the pups. Several are starting to get around the whelping box on wobbly all-fours.

Susie’s puppies are 10-days old today. It shouldn’t be long and eyes and ears will begin opening. Nails were trimmed for the first time last night. Some of these guys have already doubled their birth weight! We do have at least one female available for a family hunting companion. ❤️

The puppies turned a week old yesterday! You can tell they are pooping more with the whelping mat needing to be changed out for a clean one and washed daily now.

It melted my heart when this little plated male crawled into my palm, curled up, and promptly went to sleep with his tail twitching last night. 🥰
He is one of only three plated pups, the other two are the green and light blue collar females

All puppies and Susie got veterinary approved health checks today. They are starting to chunk up and are growing well! All puppies also had their front dewclaws removed and stitched up today. Due to two families deciding last minute that they are not ready for a puppy at this time and a slightly larger than expected litter size, we do have availability for both one female and one male. If any qualified hunting homes are looking for their next family hunting companion, let us know! ❤️
Susie’s mother was an advance hunt tested German import and her sire was also advance tested in Germany. The sire to our litter has also had an advance hunt test of a NAVHDA UT 172 Prize III, and we do plan to advance test Susie next year….she is trained and likely would pass one now but mothering this litter is a little more important at this time. 😉

As we are now entering the 3rd day since birth, mama and her crew of ten are all doing very well. Pups are now gaining weight quickly once milk switched over from colostrum to full milk flow. This also has meant that although we were having to supplement feed some puppies every three hours for the last few days that only rotation feeding (five on and five off) is necessary now. Genetic tests all got sent out yesterday as well!

Susie gave birth to eleven puppies last night. We had seven females and four males. One tiny male did not make it, but we are rotation feeding the others and supplement feeding as needed a couple more. For us and Susie, it was a LONG 37hrs of pre-labor before the first puppy appeared, and she has been a wonderful attentive first time mother.

Betsie is settling right in with the family that bred her sire over in Wisconsin. As sometimes happens, despite her sweet personality and biddability, she was not going to make the necessary size to become a breeding eligible female for our kennel someday. It means hard decisions, as you can’t help but grow close to this very loyal breed through training and living in your home as a family member. However, these are necessary ones to ensure that we can still keep this wonderful breed in the hands of future homes going forward! She is going to be so loved there, and will enjoy hunting with her uncles and grandmother .

Susie is now due two weeks from today and is starting to fill out and slow down a bit. She’s now over the morning sickness time period and has reversed appetite to where she is constantly begging for treats and trying to find food anywhere she can, hence we really have to watch what she is doing when our kids are eating! Whelping materials are all set and the puppy x-ray is next week! ❤️

We are very pleased to announce that via ultrasound today Susie is indeed pregnant by Charly and due around July 18th. Bring on the puppies! 🥰

Of course, all four of the ‘younger dogs’ aged 1.5yrs-5yrs love to play. The matriarch of our kennels (Anni) is already patiently waiting for me to latch her into the outdoor kennels for the afternoon 😂

Good morning! This is the typical morning potty break at this time of year showing the personalities of our dogs at our kennel. Susie likes to go off exploring (hence the collar), Anni acts ‘regal’ like she is better than the younger dogs (😂), Adair minds his own business, and then there are the goofballs known as Bryson and Betsie that constantly play-wrestle.
