This image is called 'Simpatico'. I photographed these bonded wild horses in June on Green Mountain, Wyoming.

The word 'spiritual' is defined as: relating to or affecting the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things.

The source of my happiest moments has never been about material things. Moments like this go well beyond anything tied to monetary value.

Being in the presence of wild horses feeds the soul. We are moved by their untamed spirit. In a world judged by the size of one's bank account, there are experiences that go well beyond the desire to own, to possess, and to control.

The value of wild horses is not measured in currency. The measure goes well beyond the tangible. Seeing these free spirits gallop across a vista or steal affection endlessly under a setting sun, reminds us of simple pleasures that we ourselves may have lost over time. Wild horses bring us back to the things that really matter.

You just can't put a price on that.

With much gratitude to everyone who continues to fight for wild horses' existence on public lands.

A promise of forever.

Meet MITASUNKA WAKAN TANKA
(Meaning-The Great Horse, the Great Spirit, or God Spirit, in Lakota). We caught him before he fell into the slaughter pipeline. He is 1 of 3 wild horses in the first group to be released on the 500 acres of protected land that is home to our first LWH Rewilding, Land Management & Conservation. Study in Northern Nevada! They appropriately arrived on Earth Day 2022 🐴🌱🌎✨

We transported him all the way from Oklahoma to Northern NV
thanks to a collaborative effort by Heroes for Wild Horses & our amazing Love Wild Horses’ team!!!

Wakan is often the lead or second in command to Thor. With his dramatic platinum streaks in his black mane & tail, he’s hard to miss out on the land.

Thanks to the help of our supporters, they now roam free and forever safe on 500 acres in Northern Nevada amongst a herd of 22 wild horses all saved from slaughter who are participating in Our LWH Rewilding, Land Management & Conservation Study.

A spring foal greets an hours-old baby in Salt Wells Creek, Wyoming. The epitome of innocence and promise for a brighter future for the young generation: both for wild horses, and for our children. May they find each other forever in the wild.
