Mills has been settling well into a routine.

He sleeps thru the night in bed, however, I have woken up to find him on the floor on a dog bed. But his preference is to snuggle close 🥰. Upon waking up Mills goes outside right away and does his business before coming in to eat. Meal time is one of his FAVORITE times of day 🦴.

I work from home so Mills is able to wander throughout the day. He splits his time between playing with the house dog, laying in my office, or finding a spot of sunlight on the floor and lounging in it ☀️

He walks well on a leash, however he does get rambunctious as he is still a puppy. A fenced yard would be nice, but not necessary.

He’s doing very well with potty training training. He has begun to let me know when he needs to go out by coming to find me or by sitting at the door and crying. However, I’d still say right about 90% as accidents do happen and sometimes he’s having too much fun to realize he has to go 

On the off chance that I do need to step out of the house Mills kennels nicely. He still needs a little enticing and gentle nudges to get him going, once he’s in you won’t hear a peep 👂.

When it’s time for bed, Mills will follow you to the bedroom and wait eagerly to be placed on the end of the bed so he can get comfortable .

Mills will sit on command if there are treats present beef liver seems to be a particular favorite

Mills does well with younger children 🧒 and older children. However he has not had much time with babies 👶🏼 nor has he seen any cats 🐈 so I cannot say how he would do with them. He will let other dogs 🐕 know that he lives here when they walk past, but after a moment he will just sit there and grumble as people pass by.

Someone had a case of the zoomies in the snow this morning. So now it’s time to take a little snooze on the couch. Mills loves to get as close as possible to whoever he is sitting next to. He likes to burrow in, and bury his little head in blankets or the crook of your arm 🥰

This handsome hound got to spend the day at Haws in their SNIP clinic. When I picked him up I was told he was a clinic favorite and was being dotted on during their lunch break. 🥰
He’s home resting now. Although he kept me busy this afternoon trying to keep him calmed and unexcitable, we don’t want his suture to open. It was no easy feat keeping him settled, cause all he wants to do is play, play, play, but we did it! Mills is now resting comfortably, getting extra snuggles ❤️

It’s been a bit over a week since Mills has gotten here and we’ve gotten to know him a bit more.

*He’s a happy pup with tons of energy.
*He enjoys harassing the big dog to play. When not doing that he loves to play with any toy he can find🎾
*Mills does fantastic with the house dog and is very much his shadow. Although he’s skeptical of dogs he sees walking past. 🐕
*Mills has discovered his voice a little. He likes to warn me of people walking past the house or to yell at the big dog cause he wants the toy he has. 🦴
*Kenneling has gotten better and I’ve caught him resting in his kennel even when we are at home, I’m glad to see him getting comfortable in there. 💤
*when it’s time for bed Mills does great with sleeping thru the night 🌖
*With frequent bathroom breaks he’s been doing well with potty training. Although since he’s a puppy and still in training so accidents will happen 🤷🏻‍♀️par for the course with a puppy

With the sun out this morning we decided to take a small walk. Mills does great on the leash. No pulling and stayed near my side close to the entire time.

It’s not as fun to play with the toy unless you earn it first. Mills always has to have whatever toy the house dog has. They go back and forth over it for hours.

Squeakers, balls and bones oh my! It doesn’t matter to Mills as long as he has a toy to play with.
He’s not above a bit of thievery if someone else has the toy that he wants to play with.

With the weather being nice today we decided to go outside for some exploring and photos 📷.

Mills loves to explore. His nose is constantly to the ground, ready to see what he can discover next. He enjoys chasing after the random leaves 🍂 he would see blow. However, the small sticks that he found appeared to be a quick favorite to nibble on.

Today was the first day that I’ve had to kennel him while leaving the house. While it took some coaxing to get him into the kennel, he did well once in there, after he earned his treat 🦴. Upon our return the kennel was still dry and he quickly did his business outside.
He is quite fond of pestering the house dog to play with him. Mills is full of that puppy energy. But he was able to entertain him self with several different toys. Running back and forth from room to room with them, exchanging them out every so often. It’s entertaining to just watch him play 🎾

It was aparent that Mills was not a fan of the cold, so I went on a little shopping trip. It is sweater weather after all.
He also found a new spot that he has decided to claim as his bed.
He’s all tuckered out after a day of playing 🎾
