While I was sad not to go to the Zone Championships this year, I am happy to announce that we were able to get another professional accomplishment done.

Preacher needed the year to build up his canter anyway, so we used the time to get the final scores needed for out USA Working Equitation Bronze Lifetime Rider Medal!

This horse has earned me at least one qualifying medal score every time I have shown him. I also recently received his title from the BLM!
It is so so nice to just "click" with a horse. Preacher has won me last years central zone championship at open Novice A last year ( after just two months of owning him and having to teach him all the obstacles during that time), and now he helped me become a USAWE Bronze Medalist. Mustangs are INCREDIBLE. I can't wait to keep working with this guy up the levels and hopefully be able to help promote these wonderful horses. I truly believe divine intervention played a part in me getting and clicking with this horse, at just the right time in my life too. Glory to God!

Huckleberry Preacher: 8 year old BLM Mustang from Stinking Water Oregon
Chex My Loaded Gun AQHA Mare 6 years old back in 2018-19 when her scores were recorded.

Thanks USAWE for these awesome, merit based award programs. Medals encourage people to ride for good scores regardless of the placing in competition. More ways for horses and riders to be successful!

Does anyone have an OLDER been There done that show horse. Looking for 15+. More whoa than go. Dressage basics preffered but not required

10weeks with Ms. Ivy
- wears a western saddle now no problem
- getting calmer and understanding voice cues for wtc
- wears fly mask
- can be hosed off
- has been haltered and led by other people
- no longer afraid of riders on horseback
- met a dog
- finally understands what grain is and starting to eat a very small amount
- Big thanks to Zoe Keller for being my helper and being lunged on Ivy at the walk and trot now and getting her used to the weight. I had a feeling that it needed to be split into separate sections as a two person job to keep Ivy calm and it is working like a charm

Now a combination of going forward lunged rides and independent ones will hopefully get us out of the round pen in a couple of weeks

Thank you Beth Meyer and Serene Tyme Morgans for having me out for another Intro to Working Equitation Clinic! Lots of improvements made on the gate, and this group in particular was really strong on the figure 8 and the drums!
I also really enjoy seeing the Amish Buggies and big farm equipment pass by on the road and the horses could care less!

Well I did officially settle on the name Ivy for the new mustang! We are just over 6 weeks in.
-have met and sniffed at least a dozen people
-staying in the stall at night for about a week
- gets ponied at the walk in the indoor
- did wtc with a sursingle on
- has had the saddle pad thrown all over her
- getting turned out in the outdoor arena and getting caught easily
- and just overall being a lot calmer with more normal barn commotion going on.

Still need to get our trim done(more scheduling than anything) and I think after next week's intro to WE clinic, I'll unload the stock trailer and practice loading.
