Blanca is READY to be adopted!
Blanca is a sweet breeder release poodle with a bright, playful soul.
11/22/24: Blanca has been in her foster home for three weeks. She has just achieved 2 consecutive days of perfect potty performance and even made it happen outside in a snowstorm! She continues to meet challenges big and small with flying colors. She started out nervous and shy as a breeder release but has gained so much confidence! Her tail wags more and more, and she smiles when we play or get ready for walks. She now comes to foster mom to put on her leash. We’re working on “sit” and she’s showing promise. From day one, Blanca slept well in the crate overnight. She sleeps soundly if her crate is near where you sleep. She stays in the crate when foster mom leaves for a few hours to run errands. No accidents in the crate ever! It’s amazing how resilient little Blanca is! She was initially afraid of riding in the car, but she’s now fine with that. And, she did great with her first dog park visit. She approached humans at the park for a pet under the chin and had a great time running as fast as she could. At about 13 lbs. she’s smallish but is also a sturdy little dog.At home she plays with toys, the other dog, and foster mom. She especially likes to use her head-fake move on the other dog in the house. At other times she rests quietly on the floor and will take a nap.She does very well on the leash and enjoys her daily walks. Everything is new and different for her and noises will startle her, but she’s curious and willing to explore. She looks at foster mom for reassurance and looks right into her eyes when told she’s a good girl. She’s learned to use the stairs and is responding appropriately to cues. And she has found her voice! We heard her bark for a very short time when she saw turkeys in the backyard. She’s quiet 98% of the time, even when the other dog in the house barks. She has a pleasant bark – not shrill. She loves mealtimes and she’ll also take treats gently fro
