We took Oak and Zeus to Craze Bottoms so they could work on their team work retrieving in live hunting situations. Talk about some great retrieves and experience! Give Zach a shout to get those dogs some work before season gets underway!

This is Myla and Tula doing an honor drill today. Their names both sound the same at the end so I’m emphasizing the first letter of their name on the send.
Pile Work
Day # 2 of pile work. I’m loving this little dude. So much drive and such a great attitude for training. The future is bright for Beau!
Handling drill
Just a little drill we do on the small concept pond behind the kennel.
Isla Bug
When this young dog came in for Gundog work she genuinely seemed disinterested in retrieving and I was skeptical she would ever retrieve anything much less be energetic about. We took our time reducing pressure in obedience, did live bird work, she was staked to watch other dogs work but when we got to force fetch she could never get any real momentum coming off the table and into walking fetch and I was almost ready to wash her out. Luckily we had a client day and her owners came to visit and spent some great time with her and gave me some pointers on how they talk to her and motivate her and now just look at how excited she is to retrieve. Every dog is different and it was a great reminder that dog training is not a one stop shop. She comes from a good pedigree and has the physical ability but just needed the right approach along with the right program to find some success and get momentum in her training. Meet Isla Bug. Keep an eye out for her name in the future!
