UPDATE : Beau went home with his new owner last night. He should get plenty of hunting and training in for years to come. Thank you to everyone who reached out.
**pending** I have a client looking to rehome his 17 month old golden due to work and never being home. I trained Beau at the kennel through obedience and started retriever work. He is a high drive full throttle male. He has lived in the house with his owner when he was not here at the kennel. He has a started SHR title and was running back piles and learning to cast when he left after started training. He would be an excellent competition/hunt test dog and hunting partner and an excellent companion dog. No pet only or breeder only homes wanted. Beau needs a loving owner that will give him the life he needs and has worked hard for. He will be here at the kennel until next Thursday if you want to meet him. After that he will be back with his owner Jackson Isbell.

I can’t let the 2024 hunt test trail for the kennel pass without talking about HRCH Ponderosa Ranch Tallulah (Tula). Tula come in for training back in February and left at the beginning of November. For a 5 year old dog needing to go back to the drawing board after years of sitting due to injuries and etc it was simply amazing watching her slowly piece together all of the advanced water and land concepts needed to run consistently at the finished and greater levels. It speaks to just how great of a dog she is and how much determination she has to work and compete. It also reflects her owners commitment to her by not giving up when things didn’t look so good. I’m proud to introduce her with newly attained title of HRCH. This girl is far from finished building her pedigree. I’m very thankful for Noah and Emma trusting me with her training and well being. Tula traveled everywhere with us training and we become a real team. I am proud to have stood beside her this year and see her grow into a champion level dog.

We took off to Hodges South Carolina last weekend to finish off the hunt test season at the Cherokee Hills HRC fall hunt test. Our very own White Birch’s Sure Shot Annie (Oak) picked up her HRCH title at 19 months old and our own Castle House Feel the thunder of Zeus passed the 300 point mark at 3 years old. I am so blessed to be surrounded by wonderful dogs and people. 🏹

This girl is running for her SHR title this weekend at Music City and then headed home to get ready for dove season. Isla started off very slow and was in danger of being cut but I’m sure glad we stuck with it and didn’t give up on her. She has turned out to be a phenomenal dog with a great on/off switch that loves to work a retrieve. I look forward to getting her back in here to to continue advanced work next year! Here’s some glam shots of her after her nail trim and bath so she don’t smell so bad going home on Sunday afternoon.

This is Myla and Tula doing an honor drill today. Their names both sound the same at the end so I’m emphasizing the first letter of their name on the send.

When we brought a second Gundog into our family last year I was convinced I couldn’t possibly love that puppy as much as I do our Zeus and as it turned out She was wild, caused all sorts of trouble, was mean as a snake and simply never wanted to comply during training. Over the months until now I slowly saw her fall in love with duck hunting, hunt test training, start playing with Zeus, fight to show me her desire & ability, compete for affection and simply win my heart. I love this golden girl very much. She has such a bright future and fun loving personality. She earned this degree/title last month at 14 months old and is 15 months old in this picture.

Proverbs 3:5 - Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; Bird Dog Beau is learning to run blinds which takes a a great amount of trust in the handler. This reminds me of the importance of trusting the one who handles our souls in order to walk a straight path in life. 📸

Teach, teach, teach. And then teach some more. All behind the mark blind concepts. Each one adds more concept for the dog. We will continue expanding on this concept and adding length before we move onto other mark/blind concepts so that each dog has an acceptable mental picture of it. We run one every other day with drills in between the concept days. Blinds were taught based on each dogs abilities.
