Darlington County Humane Society and Wild Heart Brewing Company have joined forces to celebrate dogs and cats and the people who love them with the Rescue Brew dog and cat contest! One winning dog and one winning cat will have their image appear on the new release of the 2025 Rescue Brew beer later this year. The Rescue Brew beer is a limited small batch production by Wild Heart Brewing in Hartsville, South Carolina.
* Your pet doesn’t have to be a rescue to enter, all cats and dogs are welcome!

Nominations are open from July 1, 2025 to July 31, 2025. Submit a photo of your pet and a $20 donation to Darlington County Humane Society!
Voting for your favorites is from July 1, 2025 to July 31, 2025 and each vote cast is a $1 donation to Darlington County Humane Society. The three dogs and three cats with the most votes will each receive a $50 gift certificate for pet supplies at Purrs McBarkin'. One grand prize-winning dog and one grand prize-winning cat will be selected by our judges to appear on the labels of the 2025 Rescue Brew Beer.
In addition to the Rescue Brew contest, thanks to the generous support of the Nemec Abbott Foundation, all pet adoptions at Darlington County Humane Society are FREE throughout July 2025. Adoption fees are waived to help more pets find loving homes. Standard adoption applications and approval processes still apply.

Join us at Wild Heart Brewing on Friday, September 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM for the Rescue Brew Winner Reveal Party! We’ll be celebrating all the incredible pets who participated in our first-ever Rescue Brew contest and announcing which dog and cat will be featured on the limited-edition beer cans. Enjoy great beer, community, and fun all while supporting Darlington County Humane Society.
Then, come back Saturday morning at 10am, September 6th, for Puppy Yoga, sponsored by Symmetry Chiropractic , led by Sacred Space Yoga. Stretch, relax, and enjoy a playful yoga session surrounded by adoptable puppies. It’s the perfect way to support homeless pets and kick off your weekend with a smile!
