Approx. 14-15yr Belgian Draft Gelding. Sound. UTD on shots, current coggins. Ties, rides, drives. Great when you're with him. Cons: Does not like to be stalled alone and gets very bonded with pasture mates and hard to catch. Illness with a family member is limiting our time working with him. No videos of him. I agree with this...
-ride in chaotic environments before the show
-ride off the farm before the show
-ride in awful weather (wind, rain, etc) before the show
-don't force a walk or halt if your horse is amped (forward is your friend! get that tension out!)
-avoid any horse who is ready to explode

Where I disagree: "predictable patterns".
-you often can't get in every warmup exercise/figure you'd like to do before you go in and show (esp. at the lower levels)
-maybe you'll get in 1/4 of your circle/figure before someone gets in your way
-you need to learn to ADAPT while riding and roll with it.

"Everyone wants a good warmup. Everyone wants a cooperative horse. But sometimes you just have to accept what you have and ride the horse you have that day. Sometimes a 20-minute warmup gets you where you need to be, and sometimes it simply doesn't. Pushing past their brain's cut off and over-riding...

3 Students competed in a Jumper Show this weekend bringing home:
⭐️a 4th place, two 5th places, two 6th places, a 7th place & an 8th place.⭐️
Two of the horse and rider combinations were on very green OTTBs and the third team was a junior rider at the first show with her current horse. Way to go!!! 🤩⭐️
