Anyone who has been out to the barn knows Mr. Kitty LOVES attention and being right there in midst of things! Last night was no different! Thanks to our volunteers, Sarah and Andrew, he got a TON of snuggles and attention in this cold weather!

The California Retirement Management Account (CARMA) proudly announces the renaming of its grant program to the Howard "Howie" Zucker Grant Program, in honor of Howard Zucker, our late past president and long-serving board member. Accompanying this significant renaming, CARMA is awarding $451,000 to 23 aftercare charity partners this December, continuing our commitment to the welfare of retiring racehorses.

Tonight I have to head back to the North Pole. I am going to miss Hope for Horses SO much!!!! So today… I spent more time with my new friends Aly, River, Meadow and Twiz! As I sat watching them, I was thinking about all the amazing things this rescue is doing for these beautiful animals! Santa is so impressed too! You can bet I was sure to tell him! I had SO much fun here and learned a ton about running a rescue! They need help ALL THE TIME! Either volunteering, donating items or money… it is what keeps them running and able to fulfill their mission of rehabbing, retraining and rehoming! Oops… fell asleep on the job yesterday. I was cozy warm in this stocking! But have I got news to share today!! Look who I just met! This is Alys Great Notion… aka Aly and she is ready to find her person and forever home!
She is 6 years old, 16.2 hands and a 2023 Graduate of The Retired Racehorse Project… even placing 10th in the juniors division of Dressage! How cool!! I was told to share that she W/T/C, trailers nicely, is good with the vet and farrier and has no soundness issues! She will need an intermediate/advanced rider to finish bringing her along!
Santa and I would LOVE for her to be adopted! If you’re interested, contact us!
She is ready!!!!

Hey… Sprinkles here on Day 3! I’ve been busy exploring the farm today!
Check out this box I found! Aly and Meadow told me it keeps important stuff like this sticky stuff I wrapped on my leg! This box gets used a lot… from meds to vet wraps and gloves to shampoos…. It holds it all!
I think it’s looking a little low on supplies!
Maybe you can share with your people that H4H could use more stuff?
Vet wraps, Dewormer, gloves, medicated shampoos, Thrush Buster, wound care… you name it they need it! Gift cards to Amazon, Tractor Supply, SmartPak, Valley Vet or any horse supply store are always welcome! Of course, feel free to donate by clicking the link below…

Guess what?? Moose and I hung out and chatted some more this afternoon! Do you know H4H spends on average 1,300.00 a month on grain alone! Yep… that’s what he told me!
While he was lucky to have been adopted… his friends at H4H still need support! He wants to know if you can help them by donating some of the following for the winter season!

Last night, these two young ladies joined their dad for some family time volunteering at the barn. Their smiles say SO much! We are thrilled to see young hearts embracing the spirit of giving back! 🌟 Our rescue is a place where kids not only lend a helping hand but also discover invaluable life lessons along the way. Together, we're shaping compassionate leaders for the future. 💕

Times are challenging for everyone...including us! Prices have doubled in just about everything. Our hay & grain bill between both facilities averages about $3,300 a month. That's a huge chunk from our budget that we would really love to replenish with your help. Today is GIVING TUESDAY! The global day of GIVING!
This year, we have taken in 4 horses from animal control seizures, 5 Thoroughbreds directly from the racetracks, and 2 horses from owner surrenders, we have rehabilitated and adopted out 15 horses to their forever homes.
Between both facilities, we have only 2 part time paid barn staff!!!!!! The board, the committees and everyone else are all VOLUNTEERS!!!!!

The second picture is the H4H team and family with this years Retired Racehorse Project graduates … Alys Great Notion and her trainer Bridget who was the 9th youngest trainer out of 534. This duo placed 10th in the Juniors division of Dressage! Amazing!
A successful second career is possible! We have the proof! We can do this because of your help!
