Today is the Feast Day of St. Bernard of Clairvaux, a patron Saint of beekeepers and bees Bees are frequently associated through the nickname he earned for his eloquence in writing and preaching: Doctor Mellifluus, or "The Honey-Sweet Doctor". His words were likened to the sweetness of honey, and his teachings considered both profound and pleasing to the ear.
