Have you heard about our Promise Program?

Colic is the number one health risk for horses and the leading cause of death. The decision of doing colic surgery is difficult due to the simple economics of the expense related to surgery and the after care.

This program at TEH qualifies your horse for $7,500 in colic surgery and post-operative care providing the annual requirements are met and/or scheduled and the owner's account is in good standing.

The relationship between your veterinarian, farrier, and you — the horse owner — is essential to your horse’s health and performance.

At Tennessee Equine Hospital, we’re proud to support all farriers and are happy to work with the farrier of your choice. Our goal is to collaborate closely and share resources, including digital radiographs, to help ensure optimal hoof balance, comfort and soundness.

Keep your horse healthy and comfortable all season long:

• Provide plenty of fresh, clean water.
• Offer shade and shelter from the sun.
• Watch for signs of heat stress (excessive sweating, lethargy, heavy breathing).
• Schedule regular fly control and deworming.
• Keep up with turnout checks — especially for ticks.
• Don’t forget routine dental, farrier and vet care!

We’re here if you need us—every step of the way. 🐴💙

Ticks aren’t just a nuisance — they can carry serious diseases that affect your horse’s health, including Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis and Equine Piroplasmosis.

Keep your horse safe this season:
-Do daily tick checks, especially around the ears, mane, tail and under the jaw.
-Use vet-recommended repellents.
-Maintain pastures and fence lines to reduce tick habitats.
-Monitor for signs like fever, lethargy, joint stiffness or unexplained lameness.

If you notice anything unusual, call us. Early detection and treatment make all the difference.

Summer on horseback. ☀️🐎 There’s nothing like the rhythm of hooves and the sound of a stream to remind you how good life can be.
