Hi, my name is Jenny, I am blessed to be a friend of Rosa Buonomo. Rosa is one of the most amazing people I know. She is unbelievably kind, generous and selfless. She started SBF Animal Rescue in Harwinton 2014. She saves horses, cows goats, pigs sheep, dogs and even ducks. Rosa always puts others first! I don't know anyone who has a bigger heart than her. This is just an example of her kindness, at Christmas when I went to visit her and she was having additional health complications, she actually gave me a gift. She also raised help for Ansonia Animal control who was in need of blankets. She is a mother of 2 daughter and 2 sons. She lost one of her sons from a motorcycle accident just 6 days short of his 21st birthday.
Unfortunately, Rosa was diagnosed in December 2022 with Stage 3 Multiple myeloma, this is a cancer of plasma cells. At that time she had multiple rib fractures and lytic lesions on her skull. As if that wasn't bad enough, she suffered a heart attack with severe multivessel disease. She needs open heart surgery but is not a candidate due to the cancer. She was stented in 2 vessels as a band aide until she can get her cancer under control. Her lifelong journey with chemotherapy started in February 2023. I say lifelong because she is not a candidate for bone marrow transplant due to having multiple comorbidities. She currently is fighting with pain control, general fatigue, respiratory challenges on oxygen, and new on set vertigo. If that's not bad enough now they need to pull her teeth out due to bone loss. As you can imagine her medical bills are piling up. Her supportive family is by her side every step of the way, making appointments, coordinating PT, OT, helping with meals, house cleaning, laundry and keeping her dream of her SBF Animal Rescue running.
I am asking for some financial help to ease her stress from all the medical bills that are piling up. Any amount will help. If everyone had a heart and soul as kind as Rosa the world would be a better place
