Bull Creek Veterinary Service

Bull Creek Veterinary Service We understand the connection that people share with their dogs and cats and horses — the unbreakable bond with our pets — because we have them too!
(1)

They are our friends, members of our family and sometimes even our surrogate children. They provide us with comfort and a quiet moment when we are sad, camaraderie when we need a friend, and a wet slobber when we need a laugh. We throw tennis balls, ride horses and lounge with our cats in the sunshine. We love animals at Bull Creek Veterinary Service because they form some of the strongest relationships in our own lives.

Effective today: January 21, 2025.

This post serves to inform you of a recent change in practice policy regarding billing and payments. Our accounts receivable is growing beyond a healthy fiscal percentage and we cannot afford to shoulder this burden.

For services rendered or products purchased, all equine veterinary payments are due at time of service, unless prior arrangements have been made. We can keep a Credit Card or Care Credit on file for all absentee clients. For clients in good standing and current on all invoices, you can speak with Dr. Tim Hicswa, to continue your normal monthly services.

Thank you for your understanding and hope you all have a healthy and prosperous year.

Sincerely,

Dr. Timothy Hicswa, D.V.M.

Allergic Reactions are no joke! Mina has had her fair share of allergic events, so she spent some time with us yesterday to make sure she’d still be her cuddly, precious self after her vaccines yesterday. We all couldn’t resist those cuddle moments!

Dogs can show allergic reactions from mild to severe from many factors that very depend on the allergen and each individual animal.
Some symptoms include:

Skin: itchy skin, bumps, rash, loss of fur
Eyes: Runny, itchy, or red eyes
Nose: Sneezing, runny nose
Digestive system: Vomiting or diarrhea
Swelling: Facial swelling, near eyes, muzzle, or ears.
Respiratory system: coughing or wheezing.

If you think your dog is having an anaphylactic reaction which could be life threatening,
seek emergency care immediately.

We would like to address recent concerns that have arisen regarding Librela. Zoetis remains confident in the safety and efficacy profile of Librela, and how it is helping dogs experiencing osteoarthritis (OA) pain. Like human health medications, there can be adverse events with any medication for animals, and it’s very important for pet owners to work closely with their veterinarian to determine the best care for their pets.

-With more than 21 million doses distributed globally, and only 3500 adverse reactions have been reported. 1 dose = 1 treated animal.

-Librela has undergone robust testing and has been approved as safe and effective for controlling osteoarthritis pain in dogs.

-Zoetis stands firmly behind the safety of Librela and its ability to provide relief for dogs suffering from osteoarthritis pain.

-Within the FDA Standard Adverse Event Review, there is a more detailed analysis which gives context to Librela and all of the cases reported in dogs including age distribution, and a comparison of adverse events reported with use of other OA related products.

If you have any questions regarding Librela, please give us a call, at 269-948-2222, to discuss further.
