🇱🇷Fourth of July is right around the corner! While we love the celebrations, more pets go missing on July 4th than any other day of the year!

Keep your pets safe by:
💥Updating microchip info and making sure ID tags are up to date
💥Keeping pets inside with soothing music playing to drown out the scary noises
💥 Call us this week if your pet requires medications for fireworks!

We hope you all have a safe and happy 4th!

‼️Attention clients! Our veterinarians will be attending continuing education courses in a few weeks, so we will be closed at the following times and locations:

🔴 Panther location ONLY will be closed Thursday February 22 and Friday February 23
🔴 BOTH will be closed Saturday, February 24

🎓Continuing education is an important part of the veterinary profession. Each year, our veterinarians take courses and go to conferences to learn more about how to provide the best care for your pets. We can’t wait to have all of our vets back to share what they have learned!

❤️Feel Good Friday❤️
Last week, Chaney received his FINAL DOSE of chemo!!
✨About 5 months ago, Chaney was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma- a cancerous tumor that is often found on the spleen in dogs. He underwent a splenectomy, and has been receiving chemo every few weeks.

We are still celebrating how well he has done! 🎉🎊👏🏻🎈 Go Chaney, go!

Today’s CSR spotlights: ✨Gina, Tamara, and Kaliana✨

✨If you’ve been to our clinics in the last 11 years, you’ve probably had the pleasure of meeting Gina! She is going on year 12 with us, and we truly don’t know what we’d do without her. Gina’s favorite parts of her job are resolving issues, making lifelong friends with clients, and watching animals grow from puppy hood to adult hood. We love our Gina!

✨Tamara has been with our team for 2 years! Her favorite part of being a CSR is advocating for patients through client education. She also loves doling out nose boops to willing pups. We’re happy to have her on our team!

✨Kaliana has been with us for 2 1/2 years. Her favorite part of the job is seeing sick pets leave with a solution to get them healthy again; it’s a wonderful feeling to see them then come back as their happy and vibrant selves. She has been on maternity leave spending time with her daughter, but we’re glad to have her back with us soon!

✨Hannah has been with The Pet Hospitals for 2 years now! Her favorite part of working here is the connection with her coworkers and the family feel of the clinic. Hannah also works at Emergency Vets to continue to be able to be expand her knowledge and help pets and clients. We are so happy to have Hannah on our Team!

✨Michelle has also been with The Pet Hospitals for right at 2 years! Her favorite part of working here is getting to interact with all of the animals. She also has a special bond with our clinic bird, C.C.! We are thankful for the love and effort she puts into her job every day.

✨Haley has been with us for almost 7 months! Her favorite part of the job is the pureness of her coworkers and learning different skills so that she can better help the community. Haley lost her heart dog last year, and working in this field has helped her feel secure in ensuring awareness and safely for all the pets out there. We appreciate you Haley!

✨Sarah has been with The Pet Hospitals for almost a year. Her favorite part of working here is loving on all of the fur babies! She also loves watching surgeries and making videos for social media. While she has many animals at home, she treats all that she comes in contact with like her own and we’re thankful she’s on our team!

New Year’s Eve Reflections:

Twenty years in Petal, MS has been quite an adventure. A million laughs, ~7000 long days at The Pet Hospitals - Panther Pet Hospital. Hundreds of sweet puppy kisses. More than a few bites and scratches.

I am so grateful and blessed to have been part of this community. And I am so thankful for this family of mine - my veterinary co-workers. You all know who you are!

We have seen some of the very worst things and have been blessed by some of the absolute BEST. This includes my crew at Emergency Vets, Hattiesburg, MS too! We have been the hands and feet for all of God’s pets and I am so humbled by that.

As a 1987 graduate of Mississippi State University I have been privileged to do so much. From Emergency Medicine in New York City to Pathology in North Carolina to acupuncture in Florida - Veterinary Medicine has been great for my soul. But y’all! It has worn out this body.

So. With cheers and tears and heartfelt appreciation for all the years, I am calling it quits on a profession that has been the calling and blessing of my life. Thank you to all who have allowed me to help care for your precious pets over the years.
