Before building duration and distance in a down stay, you must first teach your dog how to get into the down position. Then you can pair in the verbal command along with the hand signal! Hope this helps anyone who is trying to teach their dog how to down! #trainyourdog

Training means nothing if you don’t use what you teach your dog throughout the day. If you are teaching specific boundaries and behaviors it’s CRUCIAL that you enforce those boundaries throughout the day too! Consistently enforcing boundaries and practicing taught behaviors is how you create healthy habits and create a well behaved dog #CapCut #doberman #enforceboundaries #boundaries
I feel like leashes are one of the most underrated tools in dog training. Most dog owners only use a leash for taking their dog on walks. However, the leash can be used for so much more. It can be a powerful management tool inside and outside the home, an additional form of communication, and a tool to help teach your dog how to relax!
If any of the reasons in this video resonate with you, go ahead and leash up your dog!

There were times id take brixton out to do some conditioning with his prong collar and i would have to put him back in the kennel cuz he’d get me so frustrated. Conditioning him to his prong taught both of us something. T me more pateince and taught him how to be cooperative. Win, win situation! #conditioning #doberman #DogTraining #learningpatience
Ngl, I bombard my dog with food whenever they make good decisions on their own.
I swear people dont realize how much positive reinforcement can increase natural behaviors #positivereinforce #doberman #capturetraining #creatinghealthyhabits

He’s a runner. He’s a trackstar…. Do you have a dog who dash out open doors like a trackstar? If so, you should start working on threshold boundaries and creating neutrality with your front door! It could be a lifesaving skill for your dog to learn!

Working through reactivity one dog at a time. It’s been quite the journey working with Miss Belle, but she has an awesome owner who is sure to do the work. I’m so proud of Belle and her owner’s progress! #gsd #reactivedog #dogtraining #hattiesburg
Miss Belle is improving everyday as we work to default her to a calm mindset.

I know engagement is such a simple thing and you may be wondering how does this even tie into reactivity training, but I promise you that building engagement always allows for significant progress with my reactive dog training clients. Engagement with our dogs plays a huge role in helping work your dog through stressful situations such as seeing their trigger. Engagement teaches a dog that good things come from engaging with the dog owner and allows the dog owner to take the lead. The lack of engagement, outside your home or inside your home, sets both you and your dog up for failure in stressful and distracting environments/situations. Many reactive dog owners I work with start off with very little engagement and this causes a disconnect in the dog and owner relationship. Fixing this disconnect allows the dog owner and dog a better opportunity to work through stressful situations.
And here’s the best part building engagement is not hard and it does not have to boring. Dm me ‘engagement” and I’ll send you the links to some of my engagement videos!
Do you currently play engagement games? If so, I loved to know what you and your dog play!

Be honest, how many times have you told people your dog is actually really sweet as you pass with your dog muzzled up looking like Hannibal Lecter.
Today marks the 7,976 time for me. 😂

On a serious note, muzzles are such a great training tool. It has allowed me to make so much progress with my reactive girl. Muzzles keep everyone safe. Even if your dog isn’t reactive, muzzle training is a great thing to incorporate into your dog’s training.
