Looking for a way to make a difference from your couch? We've got a super easy opportunity!

We are getting our No Show Ball Holiday Fundraiser all ready to mail, but we could use a little help getting them all packed up. All of the mailer pieces and labels are sorted into individual trays and are ready to take home and assemble. You can volunteer right from your couch or kitchen table!

Each large tray is worth two volunteer hours and small trays are worth one, so it's a super easy way to make a difference and make up those last few volunteer hours of the semester if you need them!

Mailer trays will be ready for pick-up beginning 2pm on Thursday, November 14th at our Healthy Pet Clinic location off of 40th Avenue. Please note that if you aren't able to pick up a tray until Saturday or Sunday, there will be some trays available to pick up from our shelter location (1901 N. 31st Ave.) as our Healthy Pet Clinic is not open on weekends. Please just check in at the office at either location, and our staff will get you all set up with a tray or two. Deadline to return all trays is by 2pm on Wednesday, November 20th to the Healthy Pet Clinic (203 S. 40th Ave). Thank you!

For National Senior Pet Month, let's talk about blood work. As pets age, their health needs evolve, and blood work becomes an important part of keeping them healthy. During an annual visit, if your pet is five years or older, we recommend running a blood work panel. This helps us detect minor changes that could indicate the onset of disease or a worsening of existing conditions. Blood work can uncover issues with organs like the liver and kidneys, and it also helps us monitor for infections and more.

If your pet is five years or older and scheduled for surgery, a $45 blood panel is required before anesthesia to ensure everything is in order. For pets eight years and older, we’ll first need a wellness evaluation and a full blood panel ($100) before scheduling any spay or neuter procedures. Our team will make sure your pet is in good hands, and if needed, we may recommend additional care with a full-service veterinarian.

Will you help Feet get the care she needs so that she can take big steps forward?

This precious pup came into our care with a serious nerve injury to her leg which is causing her a lot of discomfort and has rendered her right front leg unusable. Our vet is recommending surgery to remove the injured leg and is estimating that the procedure and her medications will cost about $300.

Feet deserves a second chance at health, happiness, and a loving home. Will you help her get this opportunity?

With a smile like that, it could only be Shar! This superstar loves her Dog’s Day Out adventures, but she’s just as much of a rockstar back at the shelter. Shar is super sweet with people, friendly with other dogs, and she’s a champ with kids (she's unbothered even when they climb on her). Her big, happy energy is contagious, and she’s been making progress on her leash manners lately, showing improvement every day.
