Today, I had the privilege of attending an event celebrating the life of Dr. Lawrence Henry Ketchens II, not only the finest jazz tuba player in New Orleans, but one of the kindest, most caring men I have ever known. Lawrence and Doreen Ketchens were an inseparable pair. He spent every day brimming with gratitude and love for his family. He was steadfast in his faith. Heaven is a little richer and much more musical these days. Rest well in Gloryland, dear friend. Thank you for your friendship and great tunes.

Once again, the Pine Belt Beekeepers Association will offer its annual Introduction to Beekeeping course for anyone interested in learning how to keep one’s own hives. The course is completely free and no pre-registration is required. It’s a great way to learn the basics so that you can be successful as you embark on your own beekeeping adventures! 🍯🐝

Has a great time hanging out with dear friends at the North American Honey Bee Expo in Louisville. We heard lots of fascinating speakers, ate delicious food, spent way too much money on bee stuff, and nearly froze our tail feathers off. Can’t wait to do it all again next year! 🍯🐝
