Iron Star Equestrian is forming the first IEA Dressage Team in the state of Florida! Do you have a middle school or high school age rider wanting to join a team sport? Join us August 24 at 9:00 am for our first meeting and tryouts! PM Sarah MacKusick Mills for more information! The meeting will be held at Iron Star in Havana. Bring your riding gear! No experience in dressage necessary! No riding experience necessary! All skill levels are welcome!

You don’t need to own or even BRING a horse to the shows! It’s a draw as to what horse you ride. There are levels for every rider! National winners receive college scholarships! Help your riders build their equestrian resume!

The 2024 USDF FEI Trainers Conference was absolutely inspiring. Sven Rothesburger and Sabine Schute-Kerry said a LOT of things that got me excited to get to work but the biggest message they sent out was this: Whatever you do, do it well. Everything. Every transition, every circle, every line. Do it to the absolute best of your ability. You’re always either training or untraining. If you get sloppy, you’re untraining. Ride everything for an 8!

I woke Mr Cajun up from his nap to go outside.
He is currently rehabbing a mechanical founder that was discovered shortly after purchase (still kicking myself for not doing a PPE 🤦‍♀️).

This sweet 4yo OTTB gelding has been on GutX since day 1 of his arrival and his demeanor about 3 months of stall rest has been fantastic! His tummy is happy, even though he’s stuck on rest.

We have been given the go-ahead to start with light turn out so I am hoping to see this dude flourish and settle into a low level dressage career.

Have you had to put a horse on stall rest and they became very angry? It could be belly aches from the stress. GutX had been the best thing for this fella.

Conditioning - one of the biggest things missed at the lower levels of eventing. It's not just for the horse but the rider too. So proud of Lexa and Gianna for conditioning their horses as well as themselves.

"Newsie" is bred to excel in dressage or in the hunter ring. He has a bold, friendly disposition and could also succeed as an eventer or showjumper.

Newcastle's sire, Hailo *Pg*E*, has a winning record through Grand Prix dressage and won the ATA Verband Plaque in 2003 as the association's most successful dressage horse. In 2005, Hailo *Pg*E* was USEF's 11th top ranked performance sire out of over 1200 stallions; in 2007, he improved that ranking to 3rd nationally. His offspring consistently achieve successful records in dressage, eventing, hunters and showjumping, with several reaching Grand Prix level in dressage and showjumping.

Newcastle's damsire, Donaufürst *Ps*E*, was a champion hunter in Canada who later transitioned quickly to a successful FEI dressage career in the United States. Donaufürst *Ps*E*'s sire Mahagoni was ranked tenth in the world for producing competitive CDI Grand Prix Dressage Horses internationally, such as the famous Peron *Pg*E* who earned a team bronze medal in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. Donaufürst *Ps*E*'s dam, Donaufahrt vom Shimmelhof, was the full sister to Donauwind *E*, the sire of Abdullah *Pg*E*, who earned a team gold medal and an individual silver medal in Show Jumping the 1986 Olympics in Los Angeles.

We were so happy to have Kelsey Youngman back for a few days. Kelsey graduated from FSU in December. She will be travelling to Florence Italy for the summer and then attending Graduate School at the University of Limerick in Ireland.
