We're a husband & wife team of lifelong dog lovers offering boutique boarding & weekly Playcare on a peaceful, tree-filled property with spacious, grassy play yards. We are a husband-and-wife team who care for every guest ourselves as if it were our own. We do not hire staff. Every single dog is under our personal supervision at all times, and we live on-site. Shannon has spent over 35 years in the pet care industry and has not only designed luxury dog care facilities on multiple continents, but has every possible certification available in the pet industry. Dennis is a retired pharmacist with a calm presence and a deep love for animals. We operate this business because dogs are our passion and our purpose. We specialize in caring for dogs who can't just stay anywhere. In our eyes, every dog has unique needs, and we honor them all. Whether your dog is a high-energy ball-chaser, insulin-dependent diabetic, a senior with a heart condition, a rescue who's terrified of new experiences, or a puppy just learning the world, we meet them with patience, structure, and love. Our Thursday-only Playcare Program is reserved for a hand-selected group of dogs who thrive in consistent, well-matched playgroups. If you'd like your dog to have weekly fun they can't find anywhere else, this exclusive program might be the perfect fit. Available only on Thursdays, this isn't typical doggy daycare. It's a curated experience for dogs who need connection, consistency, and enrichment. Every dog is hand-selected and matched into balanced groups based on energy and temperament. We create the perfect blend of play, purpose, and predictability in gorgeous play yards filled with grass, trees, and even a pool. This is the day we met our precious Yvette.

She was terrified and shut down, trembling in fear. The PAWS volunteers could not get her out of the crate she was dropped off in, and the situation was bleak. They called me because of my love of and experience with traumatized Chihuahuas.

This poor, sweet girl had been neglected and abused and was just broken.

Many of the dogs that stay with us here are rescues who have had similar experiences. If you have ever loved a dog like that, you already know the questions that come with it.

Where do you board a dog like that?
Will the people understand why she freezes when someone moves too fast?
Will they notice if she does not eat, and take the time to sit with her and try again?
Will they recognize the difference between nervous and truly shut down?
What if she panics in the middle of the night? Will anyone be paying attention?

We understand those questions. We understand them on a soul level.

That is why we created Luxury Unleashed. Not just for the confident, playful dogs. We love them for sure. But we also provide a safe harbor for the ones who need something quieter. We provide a loving place for the ones who need familiarity, time, and patience. We are here for the ones who need someone to pay attention while they adjust...because this is vital. If these fragile little souls are not handled carefully, boarding can feel like being abandoned and forgotten. Again. We simply will not let that happen here. Ever.

How It All Began

In the 90s, Shannon Heggem burst onto the pet care scene and quickly became THE go-to expert in luxury pet care. She launched one of the very first-ever pet suite facilities in 1992, an unheard-of concept back then. Shannon is known to be a trailblazer, trendsetter, and pet industry pioneer. She has achieved every international certification possible: She is one of only three people in the world who hold dual certifications in both grooming and kenneling.
