Marilyn and Monroe are! They’re hoping it’s their lucky year to finally find a family of their own! These gorgeous fluffy sisters are shy but sweet and love gentle, soft pets. Marilyn (white nose) is more outgoing than her sister Monroe (black nose.) They love each other very much and need to be adopted as a pair.

The end of an era.
After 19 incredible years, today we said goodbye to the adoption center that has been home to so many cats, volunteers, and memories. It’s hard to believe that this chapter is closing. It all started when I was looking for something meaningful to do with my time, and I began volunteering with a rescue at the Petsmart at the Long Beach Towne Center. Little did I know that this small step would lead to the creation of The Cat Cove.
Through the years, I’ve met so many amazing people – volunteers who became family, adoption families who gave our cats loving homes, and countless others who helped us on this journey. The ups and downs, the heartbreaks and the joy – each experience has shaped this rescue in ways words can’t fully capture. But above all, it’s been a reminder that it truly takes a village to make a difference.
While today marks the end of The Cat Cove at this location, it’s not the end of the road. We still have many wonderful cats available for adoption, and you can find them at Petsmart at the Long Beach Exchange, just down the road or on our website at www.thecatcove.com. The Towne Center will now house cats from Los Angeles Animal Services, working to save even more lives from the shelter system. The staff at Petsmart will be caring for them, and our mission to help cats find their forever homes continues.
A huge thank you to every person who has been part of this journey – your support, your kindness, and your dedication have made all the difference. This is not goodbye; it’s just a different chapter. Thank you for believing in us, and for helping us change so many lives over the years. Here’s to the next chapter of The Cat Cove! 🐾 Teresa

Mama Bonnie and her 3 babies, Pepper (M) Pippy (F) and Butterscotch (F) are all looking for forever homes. This little family is so sweet. Mama Bonnie was hanging around one of our volunteers yards for quite some time. No one in the neighborhood claimed her. Our volunteers decided to bring her in to get her spayed and the very next day she gave birth at their home to these beautiful babies. They don’t even know she was pregnant! Kitties don’t get much sweeter than mama Bonnie. And the kittens are absolutely adorable as well. He is just a hunk of a guy. He is playful, he loves people. he wants to be the only king of his new castle. Ernie is safe inside now! We are still in need of a forever foster or home for him! He has a vet appointment next Thursday to have a full senior panel done since we know he is at least 10 years old. He also has a lump on his backside that is hard, we must have looked at when he sees the veterinarian. We could use some donations to help cover his vet care. It will be a minimum of $400, could be more depending on what needs to be done about the bump on his backside.
