We're a little later harvesting this year because Josh got married (woo-hoo!), but the wait for 2020 sorghum is finally over! 2020 UJS is now in stock! Even though we have raised more this year than we have in years past, we are forecasting to be sold out by January 2021.

Place your order soon to ensure you get sorghum, or check out our website to find a retailer near you. We project to finish the year with roughly a couple thousand gallons of syrup, but it's already going quickly. We have a lot of pre-orders to fulfill and retail commitments to deliver. Online order fulfillment may take up to 7-14 days as we continue through the harvest season.

We've worked out better shipping rates, and you'll notice new, lower prices for our products online. Even though shipping is not free (orders over $50 receive free shipping), we are still able to deliver sorghum to your door cheaper than in the past. So at the end of the checkout process, you're paying less!

Preserving history.

This type of mill started being produced in the early 1800’s. They claimed that these mills were, “made of the highest quality cast iron free of flaws of any kind”. The craftsmanship of the rollers is truly amazing.

My father, Fred Stephens, has done a beautiful job restoring this mill, and he’s not finished yet! This mill will never be used again. It’s legacy, and the decades of memories the Rose family accumulated with it, will never diminish. Many thanks to the Rose family for allowing us to restore this beauty and add it to our collection. A small part of Appalachia Kentucky will live on forever in the ‘Sorghum Capital of the World’, Hancock County, Ky.

The mill will be on display at the farm. Any visitors this fall are welcome to check it out.

Now, what y’all have really been waiting for...
As for our 2019 crop, we’re a tad behind schedule. Mother Nature hasn’t played fair this spring. We’re a little over halfway finished planting. We apologize for not being active on social media so far this year. We’ve had to take full advantage of every second it wasn’t raining. You can now expect regular updates.

We wish the best to our fellow sorghum farmers, and all farmers across the nation. It’s been a tough spring for many. Our prayers go out to all the row crop farmers in the Midwest who may incur total crop losses this year.

I’ll leave you with a quote from my grandfather that I try my best to remember when things get tough. “I don’t farm for the money, I farm because I love doing it. The very worst day working my farm, is better than any day without it”.

It was a great honor sending one of Hancock County’s own, SSG Bertke, sorghum while she is deployed in Afghanistan. Her comrades had never tried sorghum. Being from the Sorghum Capital of the World, Tori wanted to change that. I was more than happy to help, Tori, and I hope you feel a little closer to home every time you open one of our sorghum jugs.

May God continue to watch over you, Tori, and all of your comrades, and bring each of you home safely. Thank you for your service and dedication to our great country, and for defending our American freedoms.
