This was just brought to my attention by a mutual of ours. I will not post her name but she claims that she knows a lot about animals and does rescue yet is intentionally giving her cat something that is absolutely awful for them, even in small doses!!! Not everyone who says they do rescue knows what they're talking about!! Please please please do NOT give cats milk, sugar, ice cream, nutritional energy drinks meant for humans especially cinnamon flavored, etc!!! My heart dropped when they showed me this tiktok reel that she also uploaded to her Facebook. Please be cautious!! I am ashamed as a fellow rescuer that someone would claim that they love animals, knows a lot about them, takes great care of them(in the post talking about a spoiled cat) and rescues them only to turn around and do something this awful. Even newbies and inexperienced people know better. Do not trust everyone and definitely scroll through their other posts to make sure you are placing your pet with a responsible, experienced , knowledgeable, reputable, respectable rescuer! This cat is going to have diarrhea, poor thing. Unfortunately this lady doesn't listen to anyone including other cat rescues that she works with so we aren't even going to message her about her lapse in judgement. She thinks she knows better than the rest of us so I hope that cat finds a better home. :( the fact she is laughing and heart/love reacting it it is sickening. No one should take pleasure in making an animal sick. :( hopefully she does more research in the future before she does something that stupid again.

Not sure why I've been getting tons of views lately but its greatly appreciated!!!! The more attention I get the more Facebook algorithm puts my posts in peoples feeds! I don't just help the pet community, I also help my fellow human community members!! Donated 2 boxes of food and a gallon ziplock each of cat and dog food to a local family in need. There are very few actual dog parks locally and with the warnings of how dangerous public dog parks can be lately, I offer my private backyard for use by appointment only. It's picked up weekly by a very wonderful company.

Public dog parks can be considered "bad" because they can pose significant risks for dogs, including the potential for fights, injuries from aggressive dogs, the spread of diseases due to shared space and toys, and the possibility of encountering poorly socialized or unvaccinated dogs, all of which can be difficult to manage and potentially dangerous for your pet, especially if they are not well-trained or have behavioral issues.

These changes take effect Feb. 1, 2025. Please ensure you familiarize yourself with these important changes affecting you and your pets:

On Thursday, Nov. 14, City of Longview City Council members voted to amend three ordinances within Chapter 13 of City of Longview ordinances related to animals.

Section 13-16. Vaccinations: the first change impacted the current rabies ordinance by removing the required annual vaccination and replacing it with language to allow licensed veterinarians to follow Texas law. This change allows an animal to be revaccinated once every three years with a triennial vaccine or once each year with an annual vaccine.

Section 13-40. Microchip Required: the second amendment is to add a required microchipping ordinance of all cats and dogs over the age of four months within Longview city limits. Failure to microchip an animal is punishable with a fine of up to $500.

Section 13-41: Sterilization Required: Intact Pet Permit: the third change adds a required sterilization ordinance of all cats and dogs over the age of six months within Longview city limits, with exceptions, as needed. Exceptions include, but are not limited to, veterinary exemptions, an Intact Pet Permit, and/or a Breeding Permit. Intact Pet and Breeding Permits can only be obtained in person at Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center during business hours- 12-5 PM Tuesday thru Saturday.

Yearly Intact Pet Permit is $25 per application/per animal.

Proof of Residency inside City of Longview
Current Rabies Vaccination Certificate per Pet
Pet's Microchip Information: Chip # and Chip Provider
Current Photo of Pet
