The dorsal shaft for the wagon is amazing in that the goats never seemed to pay attention to the wagon behind them. My goats are wearing the same harnesses that my dogs' used to wear. Flashy wears Houzeau's harness and Cooper wears Shaggy's.

I euthanized Shaggy on Saturday May 11. He had largely lost the use of his hind legs. He spent time lying on his side with his head flat on the ground. I buried him in the pecan orchard. He looked beautiful lying in my wagon while I dug. He was 13 years old.

Flashy knows how to jump. Will know how to pull a wagon. I use a dorsal shaft with bungee cords to hold it up. Also use Shaggy's sulky harness. Shaggy is retired.

Goats got to ride to post office today. Then I got curious. Hawkinsville GA where I live Is a River town. The Ocmulgee River is its eastern edge. In the old days paddle wheelers took cotton and turpentine down the river to the coast where ocean ships took it north. Now there is a brand new park on the cliff above the river and next to the park is the new (beautiful) city hall.
So I decided to visit the park with Flashy and Cooper. Met a charming lad and two people I already know. Folks are using the new park!!!! The boy and his father were skateboarding the new skateboard area and the boy took a break to walk the goats. He liked fat pushy Flashy. Saw the difference right away.

Years ago I imported 6 Jones Scooters from David Jones in Australia. I had decided to start a sport called Dog Scooter. I met on line a man named Rob Fruehtenicht who was selling a scooter designed to be sold to ski resorts. People could ride their skis down hill in snow and Rob's scooter downhill in summer. I told Rob there is another market: dog scootering. I LOVED MY DIGGLER scooter. You can see big smile and my two chinooks Brett and Rosy, in the photo as we cruise on my original Diggler scooter. When I moved to Georgia, I enjoyed exploring the landscape with four dogs pulling my Diggler.

Rob has developed a new scooter. Check it out on www.SprocketDogScooters.com. Rob says better brakes, better design, wider tire rim, more trail friendly tires.

Rob has a container of these Sprocket Dog Scooters available in February. The price is $799. Preorder and the price is $699. Spread the word. The original Diggler Scooter was around $600 and recently sold for $1200. One could say that the Diggler scooter holds its value.

Can't afford a sulky? Buy a wagon and a yellow-shaft. Great for hauling hay bales, spreading mulch, giving rides to children. And you can ride in a wagon pulled by a dog or two or three.

The yellow wagon shaft is a prototype. Available for $200 plus shipping. I have five in stock.

The photos show the yellow-shaft used with a Chalo Sulky harness. It can be used with a shorty mushing harness like the urban trails harness by adding a carabiner at the tip and using a strong set of bungee cords to hold it up.

I am testing a yellow shaft so dogs can pull wagons. My wagon is a "GroundWork" poly dump wagon. The opening where the shaft connects to the wagon is 1.5". I need to find out other wagons that this shaft will fit.

The next Dog Driving Workshop will be Feb 4,5,6 at Bamboo Farming USA outside of Hawkinsville, Georgia. Maximum number of students/guests is six. Cost is $300 including meals.
Arrive in the afternoon on Friday. Leave in the afternoon on Sunday. Instructors are Gina Hunter, president of International Association of Dog Drivers, and Daphne Lewis, owner of Chalo Sulky. Cost is $300 which includes meals. Motels are four miles away in Hawkinsville. There is room for RVs and tents on the property. The house has four crates. The dog yard is large and can be divided into two sections. More information will be available at www.chalosulky.com.
