Posting for a client:

We have a 6 year old Labrador Retriever who is looking for his forever home. He would love a home where someone is home a lot during the day, and has a backyard for him to sniff and explore. Preferably no small children, as he is a foody and likes to nibble on fingers. He does have a condition that requires him to receive medication twice daily. He would come with his kennel, as that is his “safe space.” He is up to date on vaccines and has veterinary care established at Lee Vet Clinic. If you or anyone you know is interested please reach out!

We had this cutie yesterday. Marley dressed up for her first exam here at Lee Veterinary Clinic. We would have shared her adorable face yesterday, but our internet was down, so we're sharing her cuteness today!

Did you know that there was a recent HUMAN death due to Rabies in western Minnesota? Health department announced it in a few weeks ago.

This unfortunately highlights a question we get often:
Why should we vaccinate all pets, even cats that live strictly indoors?

Many owners feel that their indoor only cat (or occasional small dog) is not at risk for rabies.
Bats are a main carrier of rabies in the area (along with skunks). Bats can get in houses and cats are often the first to find them. Keeping your pet up to date on rabies vaccine can GREATLY change the outcome of any potential exposure.

Also if you have any contact with a bat, you should send the bat for testing ASAP. If this is not possible, always get/push for post-exposure vaccine for yourself or anyone with possible exposure. Once signs of rabies start, its fatal. Any risk of certain death is too big of a risk! Be safe!

We're starting to get horses on our list for this years castration clinic. It will be on September 21st 2024 here at the clinic. Horses must be pre-registered, so call if you have a stallion or stud c**t in need of gelding.

Happy 4th of July to all our great clients and patients. We wanted to give you a heads up that we will have normal hours on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week, but will be closed on the 4th of July. We will resume normal hours again for Friday July 5th.

Remember that the monthly heartworm preventatives also deworm your pet monthly. Heartworm is a bigger health concern, but intestinal parasites are FAR more common, and just plain gross!
