We love updates from@our adopters, espicially ones like this With recent difficulties in the pet community with the weather and kitten season, I was motivated to share my adoption story of Pearl (Marshmallow) to remind you all of the impact of your work.

Pearl is the first pet of my own and I dont deserve this sweet angel. Let me tell you all a little about her. First, she is beautiful. Her eyes are the prettiest gold. Secondly, she is just as anxious as I am and reminds me how silly it is to hold onto unproductive anxiety sometimes. She has a very expressive face and it is hilarious. She is scared by bigger cat toys and only plays with very soft, fluffy small toys that resembles her. Her being “aggressive” with her fluffy paws feels like clouds😂

Everybody told me that she will adjust but for the first few weeks, the dedication to hide was insane. I attached a video from around adoption where I only got sightings of her on my phone. She had snuck into a corner I did not know existed that I could not get to so I blocked it the moment we lured her out. Looking back, it is quite funny how hopeless and terrified I was. Although she is still yet to be the cuddliest cat that I crave, hopefully she is not yet done opening up to me!

I never knew the happiness of having a pet and it has genuinely changed my life. Thank you for gifting me my baby.

🎆 On their very first Independence Day, sweet Kaya’s puppies are celebrating without their mama, who is currently hospitalized 🥲. But our amazing volunteers are making sure their bellies stay full and their hearts happy, with plenty of playtime and even a little festive photo shoot!

🚨 URGENT: Mama Kaya Is Hospitalized — Her Babies Without Her !!
Please Help Us Continue Her Fight

This morning, Kaya’s foster family found her hiding under a table panting, weak, and in critical condition. She was rushed to the hospital, where staff had to immediately triage and carry her to the back for emergency care. Kaya is now being stabilized, with severe mastitis suspected due to her high fever, vomiting, and lethargy.

Her 5-week-old puppies remain safe at home, cared for by loving volunteers, but they miss their mama.

Bloodwork and X-rays are pending to rule out underlying conditions. Kaya is receiving anti-nausea medication, pain relief, and injectable antibiotics. Just two nights ago, she was treated at our vet for swelling and a cut on her ni**le, but her condition has taken a serious turn despite devoted care.

Only a month ago, Kaya was rescued from a crowded animal control facility. She was terrified and giving birth in a cramped kennel, doing all she could to keep them safe. We brought her to the comfort and care of a loving foster home — and now, she needs us more than ever.

It’s heartbreaking that Kaya is once again fighting just to live.

🚨 URGENT: Temporary Foster Needed by This Weekend! 🚨
Sweet Luna is STILL waiting… 🐾💔
Meet Luna — a beautiful 1-year-old husky who’s ready to find her forever home! 💖
Luna was surrendered to an inner city shelter when her owners could no longer keep her. She’s been waiting since January for the right person to come along — someone who understands her breed and can give her the love and structure she needs.
Luna’s current foster family took in Kaya and her puppies, so we’ve been juggling foster placements. Luna has done well in all of her temporary placements!
With summer vacation and additional fosters, we urgently need placement for Luna by July 5th. Even temporary placement is okay — we can continue a foster share/dog-sitting rotation together if needed. Please help if you can!
Luna is a total sweetheart who loves being around people. She’s energetic, playful, and thrives in an active home. She’d do best with someone who has husky or large breed experience and can provide regular exercise, mental enrichment, and structure.
She’s been loving her dog park trips and loves playing with the other dogs!
Even a short-term stay would give her comfort and security while we search for her forever home. Please help!
