40 years...A glimpse in time

Bryan Horseshoeing Supply(BHS) is in it’s 40th year of business. Originally, Newman Gist, owned the local supply store and ran it out of his garage. The supply store was open in the morning and in the afternoon he shod horses. That is how the hours were set back then and still continue today!! After Newman’s passing, Denny Bryan purchased the business from his wife and moved it to Lakeside. Denny ran the shop for a couple of years. He felt the need to go back to the track and shoe full time, so he sold the store to his parents, Stan and Janis Bryan. Even though neither of them knew a thing about shoeing horses, they were business people and made it a success. Years later, after the passing of both parents, Denny took the shop back and ran it, along with his sister in law, Vicky. Denny became very ill and prior to his passing, sold the business to his brother, Wayne and Vicky in 2011. After 5 years of owning the shop, a need to expand their business was decided and they opened a 2nd store in Ramona. Its now 1 -1/2 years later and they are happy to say it was a good move.
