๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿพ Halloween Safety Tips for Your Pets! ๐Ÿพ๐ŸŽƒ

Halloween is almost here! But letโ€™s make sure the day is safe and not frightening for our furry friends! ๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ

Here are a few ways to keep your pets safe this Halloween:

๐Ÿฆด Keep the candy away! Chocolate, xylitol (found in sugar-free treats), and many candies are toxic to pets. Make sure all treats are out of reach.

๐ŸŽญ Choose comfy costumes. If your pet loves to dress up, make sure the costume fits well and doesnโ€™t restrict movement, breathing, or vision. Always supervise them while in costume!

๐Ÿšช Be mindful of open doors. Trick-or-treaters coming and going can be stressful for pets and can make it easy for them to slip outside. Keep pets in a quiet, secure room if possible. And make sure they have collars and tags on.

๐Ÿ”Š Avoid loud noises and decorations. Flashing lights, motion-activated props, and loud sounds can frighten animals.

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ Watch the decorations. Curious paws and wagging tails can knock over candles or chew on cords!

Letโ€™s keep this Halloween safe, sweet, and stress-free for all our furry family members.

Tech Week is coming to an end. Have you enjoyed hearing from our tech team?

๐Ÿ‘Round of applause for our last few techs! Kylee, Megan and Amanda. ๐Ÿ‘

Kylee has been in vet med for 11 years and has been with Mountain View for 9 years. Fun fact she went through veterinary technician school in Hawaii!

Q: What made you want to work in vet med?

A: 4H was a huge part of me wanting to work with animals and shadowing Dr. Bob as a pr***en.

Q: Favorite breed of dog?

A: Iโ€™ll always be partial to corgis โค๏ธ

Q: What is one of your favorite vet tech memories?

A: Working with a sea turtle in Hawaii ๐ŸŒŠ

Megan has been in vet med since straight out of high school, about 16 years. Amanda has been in vet med for 10 years. These two have actually been friends since 2008 and worked in 3 different vet clinics together.
Friends who save lives together, stay together โค๏ธ๐Ÿค—

Megan

Q: What is the most rewarding part of working in vet med?

A: Just doing my dream job every day and continuously learning and growing. I also love teaching and introducing the next generation to vet med.

Q: Favorite pet name you have ever heard?

A: Snake Gyllenhaal ๐Ÿ

Q: What is your go to emotional support after a hard day or hard case?

A: Snugging my little dog. Or often I have 4-H meetings after work, itโ€™s not on purpose but my 4-H kids distract me from anything that hurt my heart that day.

Amanda

Q: Whatโ€™s your best tip for someone wanting to get into vet med?

A: Stay in shape ๐Ÿ’ช

Q: Toe beans or floppy ears? ๐Ÿพ ๐Ÿถ

A: Toe beans, floppy ears can lead to yeast infections ๐Ÿคญ

Q: What is your favorite part of working in vet med?

A: The variety of every day.

Any surprises here?

Last day of Tech week! ๐Ÿ’•
Our team has really felt the love this week.

We have just a few more lovely ladies for our Tech Talk Time!

This morning we want to introduce you to Jeannene, Carli, and Nadine.

Jeannene is a wild lady and has worked with a lot of wild and interesting animals. She has been working in vet med for 37 years ๐Ÿคฉ Lets see what bits of wisdom she has to offerโ€ฆ

Q: What is the hardest part of being a vet tech?

A: Waking up and getting here in time ๐Ÿคฃ

Q: What snack keeps you going through a long shift?

A: Candy, specifically Reeseโ€™s (sometimes she stashes them in the freezer shhhh ๐Ÿคซ)

A: What is your spirit animal?

Q: I want to say an otter, but realistically itโ€™s probably a sloth.
(We think she is a little bit of both ๐Ÿ˜‰)

Nadine has worked in vet med for 8 years and has been with us for over a year now.

Q: What is your go to emotional support after a hard case?

A: Food ๐Ÿค—

Q: What is your best tip for someone wanting to get into vet med?

A: Just smile, even if it smells bad๐Ÿ˜†

Q: If you could work with any animal what would you work with?

A: Any wildlife, wolves and bears are interesting. Pacific Northwest wildlife is neat.

Carli has been in vet med for 10 years and has been with Mountain View for 4 years. We donโ€™t get to see her as much since she had her sweet baby girl but she helps us out when she can!

Q: If you had a vet tech โ€œwalk up songโ€ what would it be?

A: โ€œIn the Air Tonightโ€ Phil Collinโ€™s

Q: What is the best part of being a vet tech?

A: The best part of being a vet tech is being a helping hand through an animalโ€™s entire life. The good and the bad, we get to love them through it all!

Q: Puppy kisses or Kitten purrs?

A: Puppy kisses 1000% ๐Ÿพ
