Where it all started ❤️ I was 9 in this photo but I had actually shown my first dog a Labrador named Bear, when I was just only 5. Trouble a Brittany was my second show dog and then Sugar who took me all the way. Pictured here going best junior handler from the novis jr class back in 2000. She is who I owe my success to and the dog who made me the handler I am today.

We would like to thank all of our wonderful and loyal clients, our trusted and loved staff and all of the loving and amazing pets we have gotten the pleasure of caring for all year long. We couldn’t do what we do without you all ❤️🙏🐶

We would like to take a moment to remind everyone that there are many shelter pets in need at the shelters. In need of a warm loving home, a bed, or even food and warm blankets donated. We ask that you consider adopting a shelter pet before buying a Christmas puppy online or at a pet store. We ask this because the pets at the shelters are in dire need. The shelters are overcrowded and full. We see so many ads for Christmas puppies and puppies for sale at this time of year.
And right now the shelter pets need you more. They don’t have a cozy tree to lay under or loving arms to hug them Christmas morning.
The shelters have puppies, they have very cute dogs and cats that just need a home.
The most valuable thing I heard someone say that inspired me to write this was
“The truth is, Sadly most of those shelter pets started out as Christmas gifts”.
Just something to think about.

***🎄🎁🐶 That being said, Nicole our owner is offering half price training packages to anyone who adopts a dog from the shelter this Christmas. That is a 50% off value for your kindness to a shelter pet. She is also offering a FREE first groom to any cat that is adopted from the animal shelter.
Conditions are, you must provide proof of your shelter papers and the dates in which you adopted your new pet from Companions Animal Center
We wish everyone a very merry Christmas and hope to be meeting some Christmas pets who got a second chance this year and a loving FOREVER home ❤️

Please tag and share to get the word out. We truly want to help get some pets adopted this Christmas!

Here’s your daily reminder that yes doodles do shed. (This is a golden doodle)
It may not fall out on your floor as much but since they have poodle like coats this creates a big problem for the pet when that fur doesn’t fall out. Why? Because when the coat can’t fall out on its own or it doesn’t get brushed out daily it gets trapped. When it gets trapped it…….mats. This is why it’s very important to have your doodles groomed every 4-6 weeks or sooner. Especially in the wet weather as wet trapped coat mats even easier!

Sitting here as it’s “Small business Saturday” reminiscing over old newspaper articles and Polaroids from where it all began.

All my life I lived for animals and helping them. At nine years old I remember reading a book called “Working Dogs” I had rented over and over from the library. I remember crying reading their stories and wondering what I could do to help them. I had such a passion for helping animals. I asked my mom “how can I help them? I need to do this” and my mom looked at little nine year old me and said, OK let’s do it! It didn’t take long for her to find a way for me to make a difference and make a big one! We started with K-9 Guardian Angel a non profit organization to vest Idaho’s law enforcement, fish and game and the tribal k-9 officers with bulletproof and swat protection vests.
All the while we rescued cats and had built a cat rescue shelter on my family’s property. “Samba’s Pride cat rescue” was named after one of the rescues I fought so hard to save in the very beginning and sadly lost the fight. Simba, gave me the drive through my youth to rescue as many lost, sick, and hungry as I could. We housed over 150 cats at one time that had been seized from hoarding situations, were strays, and the overflow from the shelters. It was my whole life caring for those animals. So much so I fell into a deep depression from all the ones I couldn’t save. At ten years old I attempted su***de. No one knew what I was going through or how much those little lives meant to me. Except Bear, my childhood dog. Bear saved my life that night and lost his in the process. When I woke the next day I knew at that moment that I owed my life to animals. And there was no turning back.
Nothing rang truer then my moms words (as seen in one of these articles) “I just believe that someday she is going to make a big difference in the animal kingdom” and so my journey began. Here I am now 7 years into my small business which quickly became a large one and I have no intentions of getting any smaller. I am not in this for the money. My dreams of building a state of the art animal shelter still live strong in my heart and one day this business is going to get me there. For Bear, for the K-9s and for Simba’s pride.
Happy small business Saturday to all the hard working small businesses like mine with hopes and dreams. I wish for every one of them to come true. ❤️

Build a relationship

In order to show, train, or do anything with your dog really, you must form a bond and build a relationship.
A relationship in which you show LOVE and you must have mutual respect, admiration and most importantly TRUST.
I never show a dog or train one that I do not admire or have respect for. Because without that I cannot trust them and they cannot trust me. My clients often wonder how I “steal” their dogs from them. Why do they love you so much? Because they respect me and in turn I respect admire love and trust them. I give a lot in hopes they will give me just as much. And I truly enjoy what I do as a handler and a trainer. The best advice I can give my clients is, follow these four things. Then, watch your dog as they start giving you their all. It’s a night and day difference. Building that relationship is everything when training.

Honey pot on the left and miss Molly on the right were abandoned on our property about three months ago. We suspect they are around 8 or 9 months old. They are the sweetest bonded pair I have ever met and they desperately need a home. We will pay to have them spayed and vaccinated. But they need a home before it gets any colder. We let them inside as often as we can but we already have 4 senior cats we are caring for. Please consider adopting these two beautiful souls. No dogs please as they are afraid of them.
