The twelfth day of Christmas marks the close of the season and leads into Epiphany on January 6 — a time traditionally associated with belief, reflection, and looking ahead. As we reach the final day of our 12 Days of Christmas, we’re honoring the idea of belief and the hope that comes with new beginnings.

For Companions Animal Center, that belief is simple and enduring: every animal deserves compassion, care, and the chance for a loving home.

Frankenstein embodies that belief every day — and he has plenty to say about it. He’s a talkative, expressive guy who isn’t shy about sharing his thoughts, often greeting people with enthusiastic commentary of his own. Around here, we like to joke that he’d make a great podcast host — always ready to engage, connect, and keep the conversation going.

He’s the kind of companion who brings personality, connection, and a little extra joy into everyday life. He reminds us that every animal — no matter their name, size, or story — has the potential to bring joy, connection, and a fresh start to the right family.

The eleventh day of Christmas is traditionally associated with the idea of disciples — people who journeyed together, learned through guidance, and relied on one another. Today, we’re honoring that meaning by highlighting animals whose shared bond and companionship help them navigate the world side by side.

𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝑻𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒍 🐶
These two dachshunds share a special bond and truly thrive together. Tinker is a sweet, shy little girl, and Caramel is also on the shy side, though he does occasionally enjoy playing with toys once he feels comfortable. Together, they provide comfort and confidence for one another.

We’re excited to share that Tinker and Caramel are nearly ready for adoption, and now is a great time to start inquiring about them. Because of their strong bond, they must be adopted together, and we believe they’re going to make a wonderful pair in the right home.

As part of setting them up for long-term success, they will require some special care. Our team is happy to walk through what that care looks like and answer any questions.

As many of you may have seen in the news, multiple animal shelters in our region are currently managing different health outbreaks, including parvovirus and pneumonia-like virus. While these situations are not connected to our Center, we are taking precautions to limit possible exposure. If you are bringing in a stray dog, please keep them in your vehicle when you arrive. Inform staff in the lobby of your situation.
All dogs coming in for a meet and greet must provide proof of current parvo vaccination.
