Pinto loves ALL the toys and stays busy entertaining himself or wrestling with his foster brothers. Pinto is doing well with potty training and loves to eat. He is a very smart boy, knows sit, and already has excellent recall. In fact, he listens better than the resident dogs in his foster home…Pinto is used to sleeping in a kennel overnight and is good for 7-8 hrs. His most endearing trait is his affectionate nature. There is nothing like a loving, happy dog who can’t wait to greet you at the end of the workday. That is Pinto❤️

These longterm dogs at Rochester Animal Control Shelter MN are still waiting on homes. We have had them completely vetted. We have also added a special fee for some special, deserving dogs.

Beautiful Dinah is available for viewing at Chuck and Don's pet store in Barlow Plaza.

"In my world, you wouldn't say ‘meow.' You'd say, ‘Yes, miss Alice.'" - Alice to Dinah in "Alice in Wonderland." Dinah was Alice's kitten. What if kitties could talk to humans? We do, actually! Is it our fault if humans don't speak our language? I'm Dinah, a 1½-year-old, orange tabby and white female who was adopted from Paws and Claws in March 2023. Recently, I was found as a stray in Winona, and the Humane Society there contacted Paws and Claws. Another rescue acted as the go-between, and here I am. I'm rather reserved, but I do like petting. I'd love it if you'd scratch my ears and chin. I'm quite playful, too, so I'll know that I've truly arrived in Wonderland when I have fabulous toys to play with and a human(s) to love me, give me chin and ear scratches, and love, love, love me a their darling Dinah girl!

Had to say goodbye to my 15 year old Buddy. Breaks my heart how he was struggling to breath and had very little energy. He was diagnosed with heart failure 18 months ago and slowly went down hill from there. Rest in peace old man will see you on the other side

Today is Pet Fire Safety Day, a reminder to keep our furry family members safe! Here are some tips to protect your pets:

🔥 Create an Emergency Plan: Ensure everyone in your household knows how to evacuate with pets quickly.
🔥 Pet Alert Stickers: Place alert stickers on a front-facing window or door to notify firefighters about the number and types of pets inside your home.
🔥 Keep Collars and ID Tags On: In case of a fire, make sure your pets can be easily identified.
🔥 Practice Fire Drills: Include your pets in fire drills so they become familiar with emergency procedures.

BluePearl Pet Hospital After-Hours Emergency in Rochester is temporarily closed due to staffing. Their Arden Hills, Golden Valley, and Blaine, MN locations are fully functioning.

Another option, opening June 20, 2024, is Allied Veterinary Service-Rochester. They are temporarily operating out of the Stewartville Animal Clinic while they search for a permanent location.
