We are absolutely overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank you all so much for your donations, messages, shares, and every word of support after Dr. Johnston's house fire.

Dr. Johnston’s mother is now home from the hospital and recovering. We wanted to give a special shoutout to Dr. Johnston's 14 year old daughter, Adrienne, who was in the room when the fire started. She got Dr. Johnston's parents and the family's 3 dogs safely away from the house. Adrienne, you are absolutely incredible. Your Summit Veterinary Care family is so proud of you, your speedy response time, and your bravery. You are, quite literally, a lifesaver - and in the words of your mother, an absolute hero.

In tragedy, community becomes everything. Thank you for showing up, standing with us, and holding this family close. We will be continuing fundraising efforts for Dr. Johnston and her family as they navigate their new reality. We will continue to keep you all updated. We appreciate your support so, so much.

Dr. Johnston, who practices urgent care at our sister practice, Summit Veterinary Care, had her world turned upside down yesterday after an unexpected house fire.

Dr. Johnston has been an invaluable member of the Summit Vet Care team since April, serving as our primary urgent care doctor. She is brilliant, compassionate, and endlessly kind - a steady source of positivity and comfort for both pets and people. She gives so much of herself to this community, and she deserves so much better than this heartbreaking setback.

Morgan has been working alongside Dr. Starke for five years, and serves as the Director of Operational Excellence for All Four Paws Veterinary Relief, Vets To Pets, and Summit Veterinary Care. Morgan oversees human resources, benefits administration, marketing, implementing systems to ensure operational efficiency, and financial success — all while championing professional development for our team members.

Known for her love of spreadsheets and her strategic eye for detail, Morgan is passionate about creating systems that support both people and practice growth. Morgan’s favorite part of her job is forming genuine, caring bonds with every member of the team. She takes pride in knowing that her team feels safe with her — safe to share their ideas, voice concerns, and speak up when something isn’t right. Her “why” says it best:
