Virginia Beef Corp VA Beef was founded in 1965 by William R Brockett. The cattle operation grew to breeding stock and as land became available our grain acres

In the early years we raised beef cattle, primarily feedlots, and grew grains to feed the cattle and for market.

Praying for rain! Who would have ever thought we’d have two irrigation guns running in November! And the rye and pasture planted for the new cattle isn’t growing as well as it normally would this time of year. Please pray for rain, we all need it, especially the farmers as it’s been a tough year.

Travis preparing sod ground. He tried disking first, but the ground was too hard. So it’s back to the ripper.

Farming doesn’t allow for breaks — Travis went from fertilizing spring crops, working up ground, drilling beans, top dressing corn, spreading slug bait, to bush hogging pastures. And he also takes care of welding and repairs in between.

Jimmy out top dressing with the JD sprayer. Not an easy job staying between the rows and managing the hills on Fleetwood, but he enjoys it.

Travis is doing great in the new JD Spreader. Top dressing is hard enough trying to stay between the rows but while learning how to operate a new machine on top of that is impressive. This spreader has two screens and a camera to help keep you informed and accurate.
