We are a 35 acre wildlife park with 300+ exotic and domestic animals and birds. Bring a camera and spend a whole day. Open every day, including all holidays, May 13, 2023- Labor Day.

Pumpkin season is here! One of the animals’ favorite time of the year is here - from our smallest tortoise to our largest deer and everyone in between, everyone LOVES pumpkins. If you’re wondering what to do with your pumpkins, the zoo is gladly accepting donations (whole or carved) for the animals to eat and play with! Please feel free to leave pumpkins in the blue wagon outside the brown steel building at the end of the parking lot opposite the ticket entrance and gift shop. Thank you!

Friendly reminder that we have now changed over to our fall hours! The zoo is now closed during the week starting September 3rd and will be open just two more weekends before closing for the season with shortened hours.

Looking for a fun outing that’s perfect for the whole family this Labor Day weekend? Look no further! Come see the goats being goats, and the rest of animals, before the 2024 season comes to an end.

Tickets open every day 10am - 4pm through Monday with the zoo closing at 5pm.

Tuesday, August 27th: due to the severe thunderstorms overnight and this morning, the zoo will be delayed in opening.

The zoo will open at 12pm. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as our staff continues to care for the animals and cleans the grounds behind the storms.

Who doesn’t love goats? These small ruminants are definitely are cause celebration. As a multipurpose animal, goats have benefited people across the globe as meat and dairy producers, w**d control, and providing companionship as some of the most charismatic pets.

We had a good ol’ fashioned draw for our final round between Paige and Sam between both Instagram and Facebook story votes and comments/ likes.

Thank you for following along all week as we celebrated ! We hope you enjoyed the photos and friendly competition as much as we had fun making them.

Thank you to our fantastic team this season. There are a lot of moving parts and so much more work than most folks realize so we couldn’t do this amazing job without each of you and your love for the animals.

Round 5: Paige and Aurora vs. Sam and Shirley
Last but certainly not least, we have our two veteran keepers. There isn’t much these two can’t do. Paige joined WWZ as a seasonal nursery staff member in 2014 and continued to flourish each summer until later completing her internship with us while in college, and then managing the cafe for a season. In May 2022, she graduated with her BS in Wildlife Ecology, Captive Wildlife. She then came on year-round and become the zoo’s Education and Event Coordinator where she is charge of our kids camps, community events, and more along with caring for the animals. Sam joined the team in 2011 as the cafe manager, then completed her internship the following summer. After her internship, she moved to the nursery and continued to learn each of the positions here at the zoo. In May 2014, Sam graduated with her BS in Animal Science and came on year-round in 2015. As the zoo manager, she is charge of animal care, staff, keeping up with documentation to stay USDA and DNR compliant, and much more. Needless to say, Paige and Sam wear many hats! Thank you for you dedication and hard work ladies, we couldn’t do it without you!

Coati’s, like Benny, have strong front claws to dig up their food! These work especially well in puzzle feeders like this. If you watch, you can see Benny searching for his favorite foods like banana, apple, and night crawlers!

We’d like to wish our ring-tailed lemur twins, Lexi and Lacey, a very happy 6th birthday! The girls celebrated with piñatas filled with their favorite foods, frozen banana “cupcakes” with carrot and blueberries, streamers, and more!
