It sure has been an awesome season! A special thanks to our amazing staff from left to right: Greta, Pete, Jamie in front & hubby Mike! We couldn't have done it without you. And thanks to Sue Duchan and Connie Lepley for trusting us with their horses for the summer, we're truly grateful for them! Here's some fall pictures and they were spectacular. Unfortunately the rain kept us grounded a lot though. And now even though we're not officially closed the weather might have it's say so about that. It's always kinda sad when the season winds down but on the up side I'm already making plans for next year! And as always, a special thank you to our guests that ride with us and friends that come back every year. We appreciate you and hope to see you soon! 😊🐴❤️

Welcome to the herd, Jade! What a sweetheart and smart too! She's here for her new summer job and I think she's fitting in just fine. Making friends and buddied up with Nova! Thanks Connie for trusting us with your baby girl! 😊❤️🐴

I delayed this post because I wasn't sure we'd have the trails open on time. The woods took a beating last winter and so did we clearing the trails. We started on May 1st and there was still some snow out there. But with the help of Pete and Mary we finally finished today! Pete helped us for the last 3 days and without him we wouldn't have been done. The pictures are before and after and really don't show the extent of the damage from heavy snow, and 2022's ice storm already had a bunch of trees leaning over. Holy cow it was just unbelievable how many trees had to be cut! 😢Every trail was trashed and I think we'll be losing some shade out there too. But we did it and we're ready, and officially open for the season! 🐴❤️👏

So the weather broke and I decided to see if there's any progress with Nova. She's actually starting to gain some weight! Last week we put the herd together and she's been accepted and doing great! So happy she's doing well. She's buddied up with Mickey. The next update will be her feet. She's got some rotation in the right foot, how it happened is anyone's guess. With proper trims and good nutrition she should be fine. Looking forward to spring and another season! We'll have the same regular herd and a few that'll come for the summer. Before we can even open, there's so much trail work to do, oh boy! There's trees down, and bent down over the trails from heavy snow. All part of the life though, and looking forward to being out there in the woods! ☺️🐴❤️🌳

Pete came out to visit Nova today. I think she knows a good soul when she sees one. We don't know about her history just that she was more than likely an Amish work horse. Treated as machinery only, and seems kind of depressed yet. Based on her behavior, her life consisted of just work and no affection so she doesn't know how to take us yet. I think she'll come around cause she's getting all the lovin we can give her. I think it'll just take time. Yes she'll be working here too, if you can call it that for this big girl, taking guests on trail rides (eventually). She's now at her forever home until it's her time and hopefully she'll be with us for many more years! She also has a bad foot which we knew about, her feet had been neglected for a long time before the rescue saved her. The coffin bone has rotated downward. The cause is unknown but with proper nutrition and trims she could have a good prognosis. She's not lame so that's a good sign. We're so lucky to have her in our lives! Can't wait to see what she knows and help her to be the best trail horse that she can be and most of all, be happy, healthy and enjoy the rest of her life with us!❤️🐴

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! This post is a little late, but here she is. The newest lifetime member of our herd: Nova! I'm so excited I could bust! She's an adoption from Pony Tales Refuge and Rehab which we support. I've been trying to get a draft that we could afford for 2 years. She's a 16 year old Percheron. Her history is mostly unknown, the seller sold her end of halter, not sound, and she had a foal last spring. I don't know what that babys fate was, the baby was not by her side at auction. I assume that at some point she was a working horse and most likely not treated well based on her reaction if I move too quickly. Pony Tales had her for a few months, got her teeth and feet done and gave her the best care possible. Now we help her get adjusted to her new life and fattened up for spring. As I mentioned earlier, she's a lifetime member of the herd. We keep our horses until it's their time to help them cross. They'll never know the scary reality of the auction ring. This is home, welcome sweet girl! She'll get all the loving we can give and I think she'll like it here! Many thanks to Cindy at Pony Tales for delivering her and for all the great work they do saving as many lives as possible. ❤️🐴❤️

The season sure goes fast. We've been out this past weekend enjoying the fantastic weather with some great folks and now we're closed until spring. It's been a great summer and we meet so many great people and friends that come back to see us every year. The horses are now getting a much deserved break! Next year there'll be some new faces and hopefully the draft horse we've been trying to find for so long will finally come along. Thank you to all of our guests and friends, and especially my great staff for an awesome year! We couldn't do it without you, and Mike and I sure appreciate you. Until we meet again, keep on riding!

It sure was a beautiful weekend and we had some great rides! The woods are always beautiful! One more weekend and then closed until next May. The season always goes too fast, it was awesome though. We meet so many good people and have good friends that come back to see us every year! I'm already making plans for next year. We've been looking for a draft horse for awhile now and really hoping the right one comes along to adopt during the off season. Some of you may know that we support an amazing rescue organization, Pony Tales Refuge & Rehab. They do great work and we're excited that some of their draft rescues will be coming available for adoption. Fingers crossed 🐴🤞 As always, its a great day to ride!

Thanks again to our awesome trail guides for a great year. Missing was Annie who's in college. We couldn't have done it without you guys! My sister's Kathy & Diane made the trek up here and they and our friend Mary joined us on a trail ride. Good times, and Mike and I are so lucky to have you as staff and friends! We're not done yet, the fall colors will peak this weekend, and it's always a good day to ride!

A little bit of sadness today. We took Lily, Riley and Brandy back home to Minnesota. They had summer jobs with us and can now enjoy a long break until next year. We are thankful for their service! ❤️🐴🐎 Good ponies.
